Rumor mill is churning. Supposedly seven new characters coming to arcade version of SSF4 (probably DLC down the line). Have fun learning more matchups!

This character in SF3 was just a tank. Perfectly built with such good normals. Problem was parry. Moves like F.HP and c.HP are like perfect anti-airs, s.MK has sick range and beats crouching pokes, flash chop eats projectiles and is a great zoning toolā¦ so without parry this guy would control the ground like a champ. With his command grab, quick and powerful overhead that knocks down, c.lk mk target combo, a beast with mixup. If you can combo ultra off of his c.HP, a completely better version of Abel is born.
Ok Iām thinking wayyyy to into this. Sorry Iām excited. Rolento is also an awesome addition. He was the first character I can ever say I āmainedā in an SF title (Street Fighter Alpha 2, Sega Saturn, 1996 at the age of 13). Again, a character with really interesting normals, and really great supers that would transition into Super very well (the level 3 trip cord was one of the first supers ever meant to go through fireballs and pownā¦ his second is a grenade barage that would work on jumping opponentsā¦ no FADCās here unless they give him something new).
With 5 available slotsā¦ Iām guessing 2 Alpha 2 3rd Strike and 1 newcomer? Canāt believe were already talking about new characters this soon, but Iām happy because I was pretty dissapointed with the SSF4 cast to be honest, yaāll know I was begging for Alex.

My dream picks: Birdie, Yun (Yang cameo in his ultra ala CVS2), Elena (another character who would beast in SSF4 due to her normals w/o worries of parry), andā¦ I donāt really like any one else from Alphaā¦ Sodom maybe? Iāll break the theme and say Hugo. Give us Hugo and Poison. Poison is so hot. Poison is not a guy I donāt want to hear it.
I guess Yun, Q, Karin, and Birdie would be cool.

Those were pictures from Seasonās Beatings in Ohio, but we do hope to hold something large scale here eventually. At most, we get 20.
Iām about an hour away, and part of me wants to check out one of these gatherings, eventually. The other parts remember that Iāve never played in a tournament environment, and canāt seem to get into and out of Pittsburgh without getting horribly lost. Iād only do casuals anyway.

Tournament environment is the best kind to play in. Casuals with friends is good but tourney environment is the true test. Once you get over your tournament jitters youāll wonder why you havenāt played in this environment sooner.

When are you gonna realize they donāt give a shit about your match up knowledge and skill and just want more money? I bet itās a āturboā add-on for likeā¦ $20.
Either way, new characters sound fun. If I feel like trying it Iāll just wait for one of you to spend the money since I know you will. And Ono will do what he wants as weāve already seen. Also, they said any āpositiveā responses by the Japanese arcade players in terms of character strengths and weaknesses will stay while others will be changed, so weāre gonna supposedly get nerfs/buffs based on Japanās arcade scene.
Just wait, 4-6 months weāll have MORE characters and theyāll say the patch is for SF5 unless they go the SF2 route and just keep adding subtitles to the name.

TBH I donāt think 20 bucks is a bad price point if there are the rumored 7 total new charactersā¦but 7 is excessive, if itās 2 characters which I find unlikely as well (the select screen looks bad with the 2 new slots in the current format, sure they could reformat the select screen but Iām guessing theyāre gonna have 6ā¦just to make it even), just give me Alex, the other characters donāt matter much to meā¦unless itās Alex AND Birdie
