Hey, I live right by the Energy Console Center which is pretty much where all of the hotels are located. I’m off Tuesday and Wednesdays so hit me up on here and we’ll get something together. I’m in the same boat, the following week I’m going up to Boston for a week and am meeting up with a few guys up there for a few hours while the person I’m visiting has their internship.

Hey Tod, my name is Jake. No AE machine here. We do have an arcade downtown on Smithfield called Ace’s Break Away and Play… but it is not worth going to and offers no comp. We have our bigger gatherings on Friday’s, but we sometimes meet up at my place in Shadyside for games throughout the week. It is a ten to fifteen minute drive from downtown, or you could bus it in about 30 minutes. I have two arcade sticks in case you didn’t bring one, one TE and one HRAP. We play both super and marvel very competitively.
Everyone else, I’m up for hosting on Monday night after 6 and Thursday after 4.
Jake, can you please mirror my absolutely retarded schedule so we can play more? Thanks.

EDIT: Wednesday I will have two 360s if people can bring 2 sticks and a copy of the game we’ll have 2 set ups and I’ll have a more comfortable set up for us to play. Maybe a food or two.
Uh, my boy handled you easily in the losers final. That was after he went all the way through winners and lost to screw attack guy first in the winners finals, then lost to him again in grand finals. If it was that free my boy should have won the whole thing. On top of that, he plays BETTER on 360, with a 360 pad, and this tournament was PS3. Hmm…

Wow, I’m honestly impressed at how you handled these vicious remarks with such class. This man sought to do nothing less then bring you down in a mean manner and you gracefully took it on the chin. Bravo sir! If you are ever up for some ssf4 casuals/want to get better at the game let us know and we’ll get you into our super secret circle of gamers.
Jake, fuck off. You can’t even support people in your own group. “Glad I didn’t even come down to steal whatever you won.” What kind of shit is that? Even if it is an anime convention, some people get nerves and some people have a hard time with it. Herb has trouble with that. You just say “You won a shitty tournament that I, Jake the best player in pittsburgh EVER, would have easily conquered with no problem, including you.” and then continue to make me seem like a bad guy? All you’ll do anyway is compare him to Aaron or Alucard and unless he can get you food or a ride somewhere or somewhere to play Marvel and people to play against you’ll stop inviting him to shit after a month or 2.
Jon: I’ll talk shit, but I’ll back up whatever happened there too. That’s just how I am. Angel was the screw attack guy, Joe was my friend. You did take 3rd in the whole thing so I’ll give you that, but both of those dudes play as much as you do and know the game well enough that they could do well in a “real” tournament as well. You just come across those people sometimes. Even Jake used to attend just to go and win the prizes “for free” since he knew he could. Either way, if you want to get better, you should try to attend gatherings when people have them.
For the other guys that I saw, because some people actually go to con’s and enjoy them as a whole, meaning Lang, Brandon, Jason, Herb, Blazblue Tager guy: It was good seeing you all again. I’ll try to make it over to CMU some Friday, I just don’t have time most of the time but I’ll make it soon. I still want to try out Arcana 3 and learn how to be pro at Jackie Chan. Good job on the “Attendee’s Choice” ballot stuffing for that game too. It sucks they didn’t end up having it. I know around 10 Javi and Roman were gonna walk around and hang out the rest of the night so it’s no surprise it didn’t happen, they were busting their asses all weekend. But I remember what it’s like to have a good time with good friends and have fun playing video games because I don’t have to be serious all the time with them. Non-hostile gaming is awesome.
Herb: Good stuff on your win, even if you lost the money match. You almost came back. Although I did know the console on the right was patched, the left was not, and forgot until you reminded me. Still, $5 compared to $50 entry fee for next year is pretty good.
Does anyone know what was going on with Black Ops? Did they have the grand finals in one of the ball rooms or something? I know they did some Screw Attack footage for that as well. Either way in a week or so Tekko stuff should be up, maybe a Con report or something. They were all over the place so I don’t know if it’ll just be the game room or the entire con.
Thanks for the answers. Looks like my trip has been cancelled unfortunately. If I have the time and gas money I’ll have to drive out and play y’all some Friday though. Central PA doesn’t seem to have a lot going on unfortunately.

Tod, sorry to hear that. You should try to get a crew together and come join us for a Friday night gathering. Adam has 3 set ups at his place and between the lot of us, we have enough sticks to go around. You are certainly welcome to join anytime.

TJ, I am glad I met you. You are a cool dude who is amazing at fighting games. At some point next week, me and Nate (one of the guys I use strictly for rides and food) were talking about coming up there to get some Sonic. We should plan that day out with some super/marvel/hnk beatdowns.
Stefan, thanks for providing drama. Herb can recognize that what I said was both funny and true, he probably did nothing more than laugh at the statement. As for me bailing on players after a month or two, it usually isn’t because I un-invite them, they just stop showing up. It is more of a free will kind of thing. Those of us who play these games seriously typically do just that, play the games seriously. We take some time out every now and then to catch a flick, grab some dinner, talk about random stuff, but overall, we get together and spend hours attempting to beat the shit out of one another at either street fighter or marvel. We are always up for having others over and teaching anyone who wants to learn, hell, go find any of them and ask them yourself, they’ll tell you the same thing. I’m sure you will attempt to bring up the example of Herb or Rocksteady or whoever, but I/we never un-invited them, they stopped talking to us or for whatever reason and decided not to join us, maybe we pushed them away by focusing on the games and not on the friendship, but again as I’m sure you have figured out, that is what we do. Lastly, I am ultimately tired of having arguments with you over these issues. In an effort to cease all drama/shit, especially before this thing blows up for the hundredth time, let’s just put it to rest. If you can agree to stop insulting people, I will agree to stop insulting people. With that said, I promise that this will be my last backhanded post on SRK.

I did in fact chuckle, I know it’s true, but hey, atleast someone held down the fort. Also, I’ve had enough drama due to some sleazy underhanded bullshit with some relationship drama, so, I’d like to avoid it in my “fightan gaems”, aka the one place I go to get away from it. Lastly, I just chose not to go to Dormont, with the amount the T has been cut, fuck it, I can go about 15 minutes north and play at Jason’s apartment, and we load up some poverty there every once in a while. Things will fix themself if that space at CMU is allowed to booked. Also I haven’t been in contact with much of anybody after I got a new phone and lost everyone’s numbers.
tl:dr - Calm down folks, we’ve got enough problems without unnecessary extra ones.
