Fort Wayne, IN - someone please post something for crying out loud

Haha it’s been 7 days Gorgeous Daniel… you’ll be alright. You are really making folks quit? Nice! Glad to hear you are incorporating a good strategy into your game already with the throw setup. Keep practicing that combo that Gary showed you with the jabs into super and that one I mentioned with crouching medium kick, crouching medium punch, jab version of the low dashing punch (or the dashing straight).

We did awesome at the tournament. Our crew won like 4 money matches I believe and won some cool prizes in the tournaments. Josh got 3rd in the T6BR event, I got 1st in HDR and 3rd in SF4, and Gary got 1st in SF4 and played so well in the grand finals. Everybody is still amped up about that grand finals set with him and Humbag.

Brent: I’m SO excited to hear that you did so well in SF4!!! Props for finishing so well in HDR as well. What characters did you use in both games? Also, are there any videos of the matches or the grand finals between Gary and Humbag?

Gary: ALRIGHT!!! I’m really happy to hear that you won the whole tourney! What characters did you use?

Josh: Great job!!!

I only used Vega in HDR. In SF4 I used a pretty even combination overall of Chun Li, Guile, and something of note is that Vega and Balrog each made one showing. Vega did manage to go 2-0 when he made his appearance but believe me, it was lucky and never should have happened.

Gary had a good assortment of characters going on too. Ryu, Sagat, Balrog, and Zangief was his roster. In the grand finals it was his Balrog with the biggest impact followed by Zangief.

I know the HDR grand finals got recorded and also the SF4 grand finals were recorded in it’s entirety. You will be stoked to see the SF4 grand finals matches!

Once again good stuff Gary. The balrog mirror was definately in your favor. I need to work on that more.

Congrats to everyone. I’m glad to hear that you guys represented Fort Wayne well.

Dan: Yeah Balrogs throw game in SF2 is a very big factor in his game. Oh and I’m surprise you were able to do his Jab supers combo in just a few tries.

Crono: thanks, as Brent mention I use Ryu, Sagat, balrog and Zangief.

Humbag: Nice matches, I actually had no plans on using balrog against you:)

Dave: nice seeing you again, nice job on HDR.

Brent: nice job in both HDR and SF4.

Josh: so how long did it take before you went to the restroom after eating like 10+ white castle burgers? good job on tekken

Spencer: good job as well I owe you a dollar.

Rex & NKI: thanks, good job on the oicho tournament

Yeah, we should list that on our tournament accomplishments too. As we were leaving the mall we spared a man a few bucks to help with his gas. Hopefully he was telling the truth. Good stuff there.

Gary - everyone is so glad you came. When you said you weren’t riding with us we worried that you’d skip. Hopefully this is just extra incentive to not skip any more events. You would have won $ if you came to that Arcade Legends event many weeks back.

Josh - yeah again good job at Tekken dude. I see the DOA matches you played weren’t the $ match but it’s all good. You got to play your favorite games, DOA & Tekken. However doing well at Tekken should have only been your 2nd biggest accomplishment. Your introduction to White Castle was #1 hands down. Don’t ever forget your 1st visit.

Spencer - I know you are real disappointed but as long as you keep learning from all the losses over time then it’s all for the greater good. You didn’t seem to affected. You had the presence of mind to suggest that crave case. Awesome work there! :woot:

Dave - hope you learned something about counter picking, even if Fei Long wasn’t a true counter pick in your mind. You lost 3 straight to the same guy using the same character. What are the chances you post a win streak on him before he gets just one more single win? 0. Switching to a different character, even if your chances only go up to 1%, is better than having no chance and basically just giving up so why would you stick with the same losing formula again? This time it really paid off for you as you got your fight $ back. :nunchuck:

Ey Rex, yeah boy Team Fray was all up ins across the midwest SF4 tournament scene on Saturday night! Haha.

Yo Milan, just felt like telling you how much of a blast Josh and I had playing T6BR. Josh got 3rd in the tournament using Dragunov the whole time and won some prizes (even beat Indy’s best player, Brent Legend, and the best part was Brent was using Bruce so I was really on cloud 9 because of that). I played some casuals with a guy who gets the play the game often and was win streaking with the new characters Zafina, Leo, and Lars, plus a little Feng Wei, Lee, Law, and Eddy. I lost both my matches using Dragunov, tried Miguel but wasn’t understanding him just yet, and I tried Lei once but he seemed real weird and different than the Lei I’m used to. I think overall my best was Zafina with a 2-0 record. :hitit:

Hey guys I just got ahold of Laipply (Nick) and he says he would prefer meeting on a weekday rather than a weekend. I told him to post something about it on here and maybe some of you that actually live in Fort Wayne can hook up with him and his friends sometime.

I’m free most weeknights, but I think maybe a thurs. night would be best?

I’ll say that this tourney did not leave a bad taste in my mouth (it actually put a good taste back in my mouth for TvC? It’s still broken, but suddenly, kinda fun to play) for BB.
Plenty of Complements throughout the day for random things about me (my shirt, my stick art, my Nu, especially the complement by derrick legends) def. made me want to play more. I was also hanging with the people who got top 3 (the third and first respectively.) and beat every Nu I fought. Really was a confidence Booster.

and c.MK->Super with chun-li in 3rd strike is crazy easy, i just thought i’d try her out on the arcade, and I landed it every time. don’t know the follow up though…

see my awsome blanka in action brent
im coming for you at Sb4 lulz :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi guys!

I was glad to see you guys at the Naptown tournament and was really proud to see you do so well. Keep it up, Fort Wayne!

Hey guys, I thought I’d get an advanced jump on it… anyone interested in playing games this weekend?

Spencer: It was good playing some HDR with you last night. I think I’m going to play some more BlazBlue and try to get that game figured out, so we could play some of that as well.

Gary: Thanks for the compliment, I’m not 100% on the punches to super with Balrog, but I’m getting close. Any tips on set ups to get into a position where that is effective? I was able to do it after crossing someone up with the walk under after the throw and just crouching and jabbing… is that the best way to do it?

Ya, I had fun. If I decide to play HDR more, I think I’ll play Bison or Ken/Ryu. I’m not that big of a fan of charge characters, but it’s a style I need to at least learn.
And I’m down for weekend/weekday shins.

Hey guys!
I posted up all the thank yous on the tourney results. I really appreciate the ride.
White castle was good, didn’t have any problems till Sunday night. lol.
Sorry for making you guys pay 4 me at white castle, ill make it up some how.
At SB Bazaard and I are gonna have the money match for real.
(I won at casuals so well see how he improves)
Im gonna be a LOT more prepared for Seasons Beatings 4 in terms of both skill and money.
Im cool for playing games at Dan’s this weekend.

I’ll post up more on some things later. Only got 2 minutes to spare here.

It sounds like one N-N-N-Nasty Note has something to say… a special message for the Great White Hype of Fort Wayne BB. Spence, based on what he’s got to tell you it sounds like you’d better brace yourself, fool.

Im gonna smash you HARD at Seasons Beating 4 in BB Spencer!
Utterly destroy you!!!

I’m sorry, were you talking to The Great White Hype directly? Naw… nobody could be that… well… maybe…

If you plan to take me out, you gotta start playing something more like this Ragna.

This was what Derrick Legends was doing to me (And FJ actually), but without the whole me really getting a hit off thing going on. You gotta be up in my face the whole time, never really stopping, and should I get knocked down, just get close(melee) or near (nutral D range) and just fucking stand there…waiting.

Don’t whiff supers(or try to do a super and a diff. move comes out), or use panic scizzors really (like how you were when we played, use that shit to counter a whiffed blade (I try to do an AA blade, and you didn’t jump)).

And Mix that shit up. use attacks like 6B,6C,3C, 5B->2C, shit like that. it’s not like it doesn’t combo into anything…

I’m trying to remember everything from our last match, but that’s about all I can remember.

Oh, and did you know in a tager v. tager match, you can 360 your opponet without either of you moving? He’s that fat.

If you can learn Litchi or Taokaka, you’ll destroy me, esp. litchi, shit’s almost free for her.

Sounds like you two know something I don’t, care to Elaborate?

^^^^This.

Also, just IAD in and then jump straight up, don’t even attack, or just super jump up and over, and then fall down, but before you get in their aa range, just jump up again, works wonders.

Also, just piss me off and I can pretty much guarantee anyone can beat me. Another Anti-Spencer Tactic (Should I be putting these out there?)

What’s good Ft. Wayne!? Just a few things.

 1. ROTFLMAOLOLOMGWTFBBQ at Brent the Legend being the best Tekken player in Indy. No. Just no.

 2. Kaqn vs Reria was sick as hell.

 3. We should really all post in the same thread. I realize you all are about two and a half hours away, but maybe we can get together at least once a month for a ranbat. SFIV is obvious, but hopefully we can also have ranbats for BB, STHD, MvC2, and even TvC. If we all got some regular practice in we would be murkin fools left and right.

Ok gang, here are the grand finals videos from the games that the FW crew played at the Naptown Clash on Saturday. All conveniently listed here for your one stop viewing pleasure.

Osiron (who hosts the website http://www.powerupfighters.com and contacted me to do that podcast) was interviewing some folks before/during/after the tournament. He got me before the tournament. Very prophetic interview proclaiming 1st in HDR and top 3 in SF4. Also keep in mind that in the meantime I was telling all sorts of folks how Gary would be a favorite for SF4 and of course none of them had any clue. Again, if folks just listen to me when it comes to fighting games then you’ll see I’m almost always right on everything. :bgrin:

Ok now onto Nasty Note vs. the Great White Masamune. Josh, that wasn’t exactly the message you were going to originally have for Spencer. :wow: You came out pretty strong there so now you better be able to back it up dude.

Spencer, no I have no idea what is with his sudden burst of confidence (or his reiatsu) but I like it and now the next time you play him you get a chance to show him who still reigns supreme at BB in our crew.

Ray, who is considered the top Tekken player from Indianapolis or the immediate area? I guess I always thought it was supposed to be Brent Legend. I never see anyone else play Tekken that is from Indy.

About the ranbats, obviously the idea is real nice but we don’t travel all that often to begin with so I just doubt we would really be able to do it. If I’m speaking out of turn for the rest of our group I apologize and by all means someone speak up if you think this is realistic for our FW crew. I’d love to play SF4, maybe HDR, heck even Tekken 6 for ranbats in our state but I personally just can’t be driving down there sadly and I get that same impression from lots of others in our crew.

Now about posting in the same thread I agree with you there. It would benefit our FW group more than the Indy group probably because y’all would give us someone to talk to. You guys collectively make a lot of posts every day but our thread is pretty silent for the most part.

Bitch, I ain’t even Kaio-Kenx10 Yet, let alone go Super-Sayin.

If we would have RB’s I would prefer to have them in the middle of the State, that way we all have to travel. Wouldn’t Mind BB RB’s in the least.

Also, in those vids (Gary V Humbag) first Spectatator I hear is Dave Going “Well… Ya know” in his usual way. Just fucking classic. I couldn’t help but laugh.

Ha! And you can hear me Yell “MAKE HIM BREAK DANCE!” after Gary wins the first Zangeif vs Balrog set, that’s all I wanted to hear.
