That’s Ty’s. I kept forgetting to inform you that he left it there. lol. So whenever we all meet up again it would be cool if you brought it to him. He should really learn to post for himself though.
Well, after watching most of the stream today, I really think that offensive characters are the way to go in this game (AE). Anyone with a good knockdown with lots of safe pressure seemed to do really well while defensive characters ran into big trouble. IMO, Still fun to watch but not nearly as interesting/exciting as last year’s tournament.
On a side note, I was VERY surprised by the large amounts of Vega’s that entered in EVO this year.
Wow. That was an incredible EVO.

Agreed. The only game in the finals I felt was underwhelming was Tekken, since apparently no one plays anyone except Bob and Law at a high level . BB was dope, seeing Spark body people with Hakumen was amazing. The MK9 finals were the first time I’ve ever remained interested in the game for more than like 10 minutes. I LOVED the pressure Perfect Legend was doing with Kung Lao and all the matches that him and REO were in were legitimately fun to watch. Marvel was Marvel, lol at a Phoenix team winning. Can’t say I didn’t expect it, but Viscant was the only one to make it to t4 so that’s at least something. AE was surprisingly interesting, I blame Latif and Poongko. Sucks that neither of them won, though.
Also, seeing the 3SO round robin renewed my interest in trying to learn the game at some point. Though, being garbage for an eternity will suck
EVO was really entertaining to watch. I agree with you Yvive, that the BB Finals were amazing. I never thought a Hakumen would win it all. That Spark/Tokido match was great. I thought Marvel was a lot of fun as well. That PR Rog come back was so exciting. Viscant responded like a champion by closing out the set 3 - 0. The AE finals were really interesting as well. I think Poongko really messed up Diago’s flow because he was dropping combos left and right after that match. Latif really surprised me too. His Viper looked better than Wolfkrone’s but time will tell if that’s really the case.
Oh, does anyone know how Brent did at RocketPunch?
he won ST but as i understand there was no competition. i got 2nd in BB
he did win ST, no other real ST tourney players there except Dave. he did awful in MvC3. he did awful in SSF4 AE except when he played Vega (undefeated) but sadly he only did that twice and was busy losing all the other matches w/ Yang and T. Hawk. then in 3S he trolled for fun w/ Sean and actually got a few wins and scared a few other folks in a few close losses, so no shame w/ how i did at 3S Sean, i was proud of my effort.
i had a good time overall but i’m not in good enough practice or game shape at the other games right now, which is fine. that’s actually part of the plan. doing the best i can to stay in fine form at the one and only game i need right now. sadly i was needing better practice/comp than what the Ohio tourney had but alas it wasn’t a loss or anything, i did get some nice practice in but i was just hoping for something more. needed Frank to show up for starters, Harmon would’ve been nice too. Ghaleon was at Evo. hey at least Damdai did his thing at Evo. he kicked butt at a top top level.
anyone up for some gaming this weekend if we can secure a spot?

I’m good for playing this weekend. Ty is at Gen Con so there’s no way he’d show, though.
So I can’t bring a setup. (Mainly because he took all my fighting games)
I thought the EVO ST was awesome. Damdai looked really good throughout that tournament (they have all the videos uploaded now). Brent, did you see the Tokido vs. DGV match? That was so close! Also, I think ST or HDR should always be part of EVO. I think this is the first EVO where that didn’t happen. I was very disappointed but I was happy to see DGV put something together with Chris.
Last I knew FJ said he was really sick. Idk if that has changed in the past few days.
uh oh. no wonder he hasn’t been in touch.
we have Phozee the Vega player, one of Purdue’s better SF4 players, in town from now until next Thursday. he leaves town Friday i guess. anyway he’s looking to play with us.
yeah FJ still not feeling the greatest and can’t do anything this weekend
Tim - i’m starting to watch some of those vids. i haven’t come across DGV/Tokido just yet. i already know it will be an epic

Brent, sorry you had to miss ST at Evo man. It was like a dream come true to see all those guys in ST together, playing at the same time! We have some nuts stuff coming for ST at SB though so don’t flake!
brog - hey we will certainly get you worked into our locals soon. we are on a bit of a hiatus. the guy that is going to be our main host is in Florida this week if i understand right. so hopefully sometime like Saturday the 20th will be a good date for us to gather unless we can work some magic this weekend.
Chris - i don’t ever flake man. i will certainly be at SB unless some tragic surprise strikes. i will look forward to another year of ST goodness at SB then, glad to hear it isn’t being left behind just yet. but yeah the Evo event seemed really nice. the Cincy event was disappointment as far as ST goes. Frank didn’t show up so there was only 7 other folks, none of them really ST tourney players except like Ghetto Dave. course, he wasn’t up to par – he was still feeling the effects of the buzz from drinking too many beers you kept having to buy him from all the beer matches you lost at Lake Erie.

I’m really hoping we can all find some way to play this weekend.
This is my last weekend of Summer until I have to go back to school.
On the plus side, I can switch between Marvel and BlazBlue with little issues now, so I can be competent at both games without forgetting the other. As a side note, I made a pretty damn good ground keepaway team that I want to try out against people who aren’t Ty.
we will have to kindly ask Mr. Michael if he would be willing and able to host this weekend like old times. otherwise i think we are SOL
Jon, you’d be interested to hear the guy who won the BB tourney in Cincy 2 weeks ago was playing Platinum. also i’m eager to see how your runaway will work out. as you know that’s kinda my thing
i might attend the Chicago tourney on 9/2, looking into more details. would anyone else be interested?
