You know you might be right about that one , I will probably have about 3 Thanksgivings in a row and maybe multiple New Years celebrations you never know.
On average, I play Tekken just a few hours a week now.
But the scene for 3D fighters in Indiana is so bad, I can state with confidence im the best DOA4 player in Indiana, and the second best Tekken player (under NoodleHead) in Indiana. Its sadā¦especially including the fact that I will openly admit my abilities in Tekken were never really top tier. When I was training hardcore in Tekken, I had merely gone from a shitty player, to what I would consider an upper-mid level player. Im one of those guys who has to play hours a day to get any better whatsoever.
I donāt know if this actually happened or not, but itās possible that I grabbed the wrong USB cord after we got together last time. It could be for someoneās arcade stick because itās definitely not mine. I know, because it wonāt charge my PS3 controllers.
thatās how we operate. we take your shit and then you have to return next week to get it back and on and on to infinity.
but seriously i guess the next time we all get together weāll have to all get our stuff together and see if you can identify what youāre looking for.
and I think iām like a 56% or a little higher with Abel online.
Thread actually progressing with out me posting
/mission accomplished.
Oh god,
dont jinx us like that.
Next thing you know, this thread will be less active than myspace.
yo you guys, i hope youāre having a good thanksgiving holiday and to that effect i have some good news⦠I dunno if this first bit of info will matter much if you guys canāt make T3, but pay attention the the second bit

for the T3 tournament i told you guys about last week we just got full support from the arcade and we get to use the 4D room that we used for NTC back in the day⦠we get full run of our digs from now on when we host a tourney at Tilt and considering thatā¦>

Im gonna be holding a big event in Feb. the Saturday after MvC3 comes out (the 19th to be precise) , iām talking out of towners, all day multiple tournies, prizes, raffles, a stream, and Just for you, Brent my man, a ST tournament ā¦
this is essentially the next Naptown Clash so of course iām putting out the call to arms for all the help from Indiana i can get (setups, bracket ranglers and whatnot) i havenāt got everything figured out yet and i still gotta post up the pre-thread to get the word out this weekend but the date and the event are both solid as a rock and since it looks like weāll be the only cats in the MW having a MvC3 release event, it could get pretty big pretty fast
Brent, i need to know what the tournament standard for ST is⦠and of course if youāre willing/want to you are welcome to full reign over running the ST tournament
Apparantly, a few people think im a lot better than I think I am in Tekken. Today, one of my PSN friends directed me to a of me fighting IronicIcon. The positive feedback I got from the video description, my PSN friend, and the comments really made my day today.
Hopefully the ego boost doesnāt get to me. :bgrin:
So is Tekken 6 online actually playable now? I kind of wanted to get into the game but when I tried playing it online it was way too laggy to be worth messing with. This was back when the game first came out though.
I know what your talking about. I had pretty much played just BlazBlue until the patch.
Online is now 10000 times better, and very playable. The match I posted with my last post was played online. Annoyances still happen, like the occasional inaccurate signal strength reading, the occasional dropped match, and anything else you would expect from an online mode.
If you were to play again, I would highly reccomend not playing anything under 3 bars. 3 bars, your gonna drop some combos you havenāt mastered, 2 bars is bad, and 1 bar is basically Tekken 6 online before the patch.
just curious if our group is meeting up anywhere tonight?
setthe alarm Ft. Wayne⦠weāre going to defcon 5 in febuary people⦠Naptown Clutch: http://shoryuken.com/f7/naptown-clutch-indianapolis-2-19-2011-a-258061/
got ST just for you to win Brent my man⦠so please do so⦠i also gotta know what the standard ST format and system is
and if you wanna continue our tradition Josh man⦠lemme know
well my personal order of preference for ST would beā¦
- arcade
- dreamcast
- classic mode of hdr on xbox
- classic mode of hdr on playstation
- ggpo
allow me to explain #'s 3-5. the reason i separated classic hdr modes for both consoles and placed them in that order is based off the word of mouth from close trusted friends who have more experience with game on both consoles than i do. i have been informed that the xbox runs a few fighting games better than the playstation, both online and offline, and hdr happens to be one of those.
i donāt know the exact problems with the playstation version myself admittedly but some of my buds seem to and i trust them. unlike most folks who just argue for the playstation version and their only reason is āthatās the version i have and play on and iām used to itā i have no bias because i have controls for each so i have no emotion or bias in it, just what i would consider the facts because my friends have no reason to just lie to me about one version being better over the other.
that explains #'s 3 and 4. now for 5. thatās a tough one. i wouldnāt mind giving that a shot if someone has some sort of laptop or pc setup to bring in. i certainly canāt. i would put it up at #3 above the classic hdr versions but i would fear two things. i would fear folks being mad about the speed of the game (all programs that run ST including ggpo emulate the game too fast). that being said playing on speed 2 (the real norm) is unacceptable so thus you have to move down to speed 1 (unacceptable on any other versions of the game that are exact or super close to exact speeds). but then i think some folks might fear that ggpo speed 1 is stuck in the middle between real between real speeds 1 and 2. it is certainly still slower than real speed 2, i believe that.
then my other fear would be input delay. playing on arcade or any console is nice because input delay isnāt really a problem. however i certainly know first hand that playing through emulation (even offline) it can be real touchy and input delay is a real possibility and would kill a tourney IMO. so because of those reasons (game speed and input delay) iām afraid everything might be slowed down way too much and it would piss off some ST heads plus as i stated before finding someone to bring in a laptop or pc setup to play on so itās probably a last resort if you ask me.
also itās worth noting that Hyper Anniversary Edition is not even a last resort. it didnāt even make my list. if you chose that for the tourney i wouldnāt participate in it. donāt consider it. even Sirlinās CCC2 version of ST is higher on my list despite itās slowdown issues.
Little trivia fact, Tekken 6 runs smoother on the Xbox 360 than it does both PS3 AND Arcade.
Everyone: Well, my internet connection is completely inconsistent right now. One minute itās running at 5 m and the next itās just barely hitting 1 m!!! I hate when this happens!
Iām going to try to make it out to some of the gatherings hopefully later in December. Iām a busy first year teacher keeping busy with crazy 7th graders but come winter break Iād love to get out and play. I tried adding you to XBL Brent but your list was full. If any of you Fort Wayne guys wanna play SSF4, Iād love to practice. I play Akuma mostly exclusively, though Iām trying to pick up Ibuki and Rose.
XBL - Riot55555
You guys still play at Indiana Tech on Saturdays?
hey i will have no problem finding a person to boot off my xbox list. there are several on there that i have thought of deleting so iāll just choose one of them randomly and send you a friend request. i need the practice as well. my best character is Vega but i pretty much just choose all over the place. i actually play low-tiers like Dan, Hakan, and T. Hawk on a regular basis so donāt be shocked or feel insulted when i start picking them because it will happen guaranteed.
no we donāt play at that school anymore. actually we are in the process of trying to start up a fighting game club at IPFW and it will be quite nice when we get that going. progress goes slowly but we are getting there. for now weāve been holding our weeklies almost every Saturday night at a friendās house. weāll see what he says. heās a great host but none of us have met you before. weāll get something figured out.
Best thing I can say is be sure to play some games with him beforehand, and get to know him atleast through that.
Yeah, Iād love to play against you guys in person and online. I promise I am not a skeezy weirdo =P
But yeah itās kinda weird for a new person to show up at your house I know; itās awkward for me too though so donāt worry =)
