[FORSALE] Custom Arcade Joystick(s)

It’s ok. I jumped from main page and started looking (and drooling). I didn’t notice it. Though to be honest i’m not sure the difference between a competition stick and sanwa and stuff like that. I just want a good stick to play on my xbox and work solid. I like the ball top. Able to rest on my lap. Good reaction. I kinda like my buttons have a little give. Hard to explain but no so loose. When I push the button that it feels like I push it. Not one of those you can glide your hand and push it down like if there was no spring or anything in there.

Dreaded Fist, can you give me a recommendation? Or anyone else. I’m not a tournament player. THough I would like to be but I need a stick to up my game.

Sorry for being such a newb at it. I just want to get quality. It’s hard to pick what part for what if I truely have no idea why one is better or not.

:frowning:

Sounds like you want Sanwa stick, Happs buttons. You may want concave, but I hate concave buttons too much to actually recommend them to somebody.

Concave? Well, I played a lot of MvC before. The feel of those buttons on the basic machine on that was pretty good. Not sure what quality those were.

I agree especially about the concave buttons. They feel weird. Personally, I would go with convex. However, it’s been a while since I’ve been to the arcade so I might be talking outta my ass. By the way which games do you play? That info might help in picking the right stick for you. good luck!

Well, I play SFAC, may pick up CvS2. I love MvC but don’t play it because it’s not online and no one around me would play me in it.

I play the occasional Dead or Alive. I had Guilty Gear and got rid of it (I have no idea why…going to get it back).

Well, I like the feel of the tekken 5 stick. The buttons on there are kinda what I was looking for. I just didn’t want to buttons so (loose may not be right term) that it feels as if I have to push hard to get it to do anything.

Though I like the ball top. The bat is good with MvC2 but for more normal street fighter stuff I perfer balltop. So maybe? Competition stick with hard spring and hori buttons? Sorry I’m talking out of my ass right there but giving it a shot…lol.

The T5 stick uses imitation sanwa parts so you might as well go with the real thing. Your fingers will love you for it. And you better get Guilty Gear back before I E-slap you. j/k.

LOL…yeah I got to get it back. Just I never saw a lot of people playing. It was like a ghost town. I would have a create a match up for a hour with no one playing. That’s why I gave it up.

So, How does this DF stick setup sound.

Competition stick with hardspring.
6 sanwa buttons (guess screw in are better?)
with xbox PCB (since I’m playing on xbox…I’m assuming that’ll make sense)
small box (black)
and a way to connect my xbox live headset. (I know a lot of people don’t talk but I met some nice people talking while playing so I like to have that as a option.)

Any suggestions.

According to DF’s site, the XBox PCB comes with a headset slot.

It’s logical to go with the Xbox PCB if you want to play on Xbox. However I actually chose to go with a PS2 PCB and use a Dreambox adaptor as many have claimed it’s lagless (or essentially lagless).

I don’t even own a PS2! The reason I went with the PS2 PCB is since I figure (I haven’t really done much research into this) is that for better compatibility with other systems. What I mean is, I’m assuming there’s a greater variety of PS2->whatever system adaptors than there are for Xbox, or they’re just more reliable/less lag.

Plus I also have 3 PS2->PC adaptors (my bro made two, and I bought another since it detected voltage and all, perfect for my DDR pad ^_^).

Anyway, maybe that’s something to consider. Perhaps someone with more knowledge about adaptors (PS2 vs. Xbox) could chime in with some concrete info

gotta couple questions maybe someone can help me out.

  1. im a complete sanwa noob. whats the difference between the JLF and FLASH??
  2. sanwa sticks have a square gate by default right? is an octagonal gate better or is it just preference?
  3. whats the difference between using a PS Digital PCB vs a PS Dualshock PCB? i’m just looking for one that i can convert easily.

Go with a Dualshock PCB + Dreambox if you’re looking to play on Xbox.

  1. the jlf and flash is like the happs comp stick and p360, one is optical
  2. yes default is square. its just preference. i prefer octagon myself.
  3. Most coverters support dualshock over the digitals. jus get a dualshock psb to be on he safe side and have more options for converters. from what ive heard, dreambox+dualshock pcb works wonders.

thanx alot for the help. is it possible to get the jlf with an octagonal gate? also, i noticed that you can screw off the ball tops and replace the colors and even use bat tops. im worried though that during a match the ball might unscrew a little and mess up the match. does this ever happen or are they screwed in pretty tight?

You can switch the square gate for an octagonal gate, yeah. And the balltop screwing off shouldn’t ever happen.

yo dreadedfist, i sent you an email, check it outtt
