so you suggest me sanding the box, spray paint areas, contact paper, then put some kind of lacar? what is the name of that stuff that dries on the box?
btw- how did you drill the holes on the plexi glass? does home depot drill holes as well?
you mean varnish? I suggest you don’t use contact paper at all, although it feels smooth, it too, will come off over time, just sand it down and paint it. Then apply a clear layer on top after everything is done. I usually use about 3-4 layers of paint. As for the holes, i drill then myself, i use a spade wood drill to do that. Just make sure you have wood underneath the plexi and let the drill spin moderately fast and move thru the plexi very slowly. You might get some cracks, but the button should cover that up.

i get home depot to cut a piece of 8"x9" then i cut that in half at a slant, so i get 2 pieces of 3.5x4.5 with one cut using a jigsaw.
I just recieved the arcade stick Dreaded Fist created for me. ITS SO HOT. He is very helpful. Also he creates great artwork for the controller. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
hey dreaded, how much would purchasing just the box with plexi and custom artwork be? i d do it myself if i didn t fuck up a couple plexi pieces already, and i do have some money, but i don t wanna purchase the whole thing, just the box 
$50 shipped for just the box, they come with rubber grips, cable clamps, and everything except for the arcade components and a pcb.

Kofiend, thats just sanded down mdf wood, if you sand it down smooth enough it’ll feel just like tmolding. As for being stable, it won’t be if you play on your lap, unless u play with a soft touch, and the stick is fairly loose. You can try putting more weights into it, like put some training weights in there.
G3nn, the top surface is 10 x15" , resolution should be at least 50pixel per centimeter. I place the buttons and sticks right in the middle, 4 inches from the middle of the joystick to the left edge and the same on the buttons side, it’s also placed centered verticly, 5 inches from the middle of the stick button to the bottom edge. THis is just what I go by, you can place the buttons and sticks anywhere you want, just draw in a diagram.
I need like, 100 quick disconnects, where can i find the .187 ones, ebay has some but they are .250, radio shack had those packs with half and half, and i don’t need other happ parts or i’d get it with them.

Are you familar with Japanese cabinets? I’m not too knowledgable about the terminology and this may be a really silly question for you: the sticks on japanese cabinets can go only in the 8 directions, not circularly like north american cabinets. Can you make a stick like so?
the only stick, that I can do are the ones from happs, the competition, ultimate, super, and p360s. As for artwork on the side, sorry I don’t do those. Only artwork on the top, the one i made liek that was just for me:D .
don’t send me the jpeg, just flatten it and send the photoshop file. 50 pixel per centimeter resolution.
