The shit talk in the SB4 thread is one thing, but the real problem here is the date. This is too close to Evo to get a lot of distance travelers. I wish you all the best of luck and hope this turns out well.

On another note, I was wondering why this thread had 4k now 5k hits, more than any stickied tournament except 1 and nobody was posting anything. It seems the people from seasons beatings camp went out of their way to tell people not to come to our event. Dont that sound lame?? They came here and tried to give us advice (LoL) on what games to run and how to get people to come, then they go and tell people not to come and announce their tournament to try to get people not to come to Focus Cancel.
Word on the street was the tournament was moving to new york. I guess the potential popularity of Focus Cancel made em scared so they decided to do what they do best COPY THE ORIGINATORS and all of a sudden seasons beatings is back haha. In the same location I was gonna hold mine at yearssss ago. What a joke.

No, you are shit talking. You gotta know your roots, and in Ohio, no one knows em better than me. I built the original ohio scene, and fugee/chris took it over when I left. They are amazing people with great passion for the scene, and they put in a lot of work to throw a great event. They made Ohio major. Its stupid to think you can badmouth these people and not have anyone speak up for them. And it certainly doesnt make people like me want to come out of their way to attend with all this negativity.
The community needs to be constructive. Attacking another event is pointless. The more players (getting along) and the more events we have, the better off we ALL are. Period.

You’re right about the negativity. Theres some issues that need to be addressed about the way people respond to posts…
I definitely know my roots when it comes to the history of games here in my town. I also respect all the skilled people that came before me. I know basically all of them, in every game. I use to run the arcades here in Columbus at a very young age. In my youth I use to play everything. I appreciate your contribution to the Columbus scene all day but you and your friends over at seasons beating have to give to same to me. I did more than build scenes, I created them. For instance ( I can go on forever ), my friends and I started GGXX in the midwest as well as the number one website in the country for it and were throwing tournaments before anyone else for more than just that game.
Another example if you know the people in charge of the other tournament you would know that I taught **one **of them how to play marvel vs capcom 2. I put them on to the game. Simply put, I have more history than the others. I just cant believe that they would ridicule another event especially when they’re familiar with the organizers. Thats lame but I know how both of them are so I’m not surprised by these actions. They don’t want anyones event to do well except theirs. Anyone in Ohio that tried to throw a tournament after the first seasons beating knows this.
I understand where you’re coming from with the constructive communication angle. However, I did not initiate the first attack(s), they did.

I appreciate anyone that is coming out to this event. I’m not one to hype anything so I won’t but the one thing I will promise is a good time.
Ill be running future tournaments from now on to continue the legacy of what we started.
My next tournament will have the latest games as well as a broad variety of games. It will be at least 10x more populated and 100x more intense…maybe even televised…cant reveal to much as of yet, but it’ll happen.
Everyone is watching. Theres a REAL reason!

First off, I don’t think you even remember who Keits is, you just know he’s got a better name than your own and you think you have to respect him. Don’t get me wrong, you should respect him, but don’t pretend you know him and don’t pretend you’re part of some elite Ohio scene. Where were you for the UFGTs? Strange, I’m looking at lists from like 10 years ago… nope, no Marcel. Which is weird, y’know, because you STARTED the GG scene in the Midwest and apparently “ran” things in Columbus.
What’s funny is reading these posts with Chris Rose, laughing our asses off the whole time because you’re either dillusional or enjoy lying to yourself/others. Before I go on yet another rant, just stop the drama. Talking shit on other people’s boards is going to do 2 things: It’s going to illicit MORE negative rep for your tournament and it’s going to get you banned, which, by the way looks pretty bad.
