You shouldn’t be going for lowest, we should set a standard that matches PS4 as closely as possible otherwise you are fucked in tournament.
Input lag already matches the PS4 version by default according to the 3 paragraphs in this article. Comparing the wired 360 controller on PC vs. the the DS4 via USB on PS4 the difference disappears into a “margin of error”. As long as you’re not using input mapping software it should be fine.
Which article?
So with a combination of this and the reddit thread, I did decrease my input lag to a noticeable degree with my Hori PS4 stick and x360ce. Its nice knowing I don’t have to cancel so darned early to hit links and that the links are now consistent.
The micro tearing is annoying, but I plan on getting a new MB this week anyway since mine is just not cutting it and the heatsink is ass in it. Will probably perform better with the upgrade.
Only thing i’m wondering, does increasing the UpperBound metric to something above 60 help this? Running an Asus MX279H.
Exactly. I don’t understand why would people want the game to behave differently from the official tournament edition.
Assuming you turned off v-sync that’s a bad idea since your game would run at above 60 FPS and go into turbo mode. The only way to reduce tearing with v-sync off is to upgrade from a 60hz monitor to something higher like 120hz+. Getting a new motherboard has nothing to do with that. Tears will still be present on higher refresh monitors but because each torn frame is on the screen for a shorter amount of time the effect is far less noticeable. To completely eliminate tearing with v-sync off you need a g-sync/freesync monitor.
Clearly. Just want to be able to have a better environment to run everything at ideal settings. Right now…well, won’t get into the technical of this craziness.
