First Avenger: Captain America movie

No dude, John Woo would end up casting Nicholas Cage as Captain America and the film would consist of simply Cage hamming it up in between overlong action scenes consisting solely of Cage diving into groups of Germans in slow motion while firing guns. Then he would give Captain America random Injun assistants that ride horses and do mystical powwows to make Captain America one with the earth after his mind is warped by the Super Soldier project. Then Cage will become one with his weapons and be able to throw his sunglasses out to randomly explode a bunker of Nazis. Also, the Red Skull would end up simply as John Travolta with face changing technology that ruins his face so that behind the illusion is simply an SS Death’s Head Officer wearing a skull mask spray-painted red.

A John Woo helmed Captain America would be a disaster.

Here is my idea for a Captain America movie:

The only things I would change are just make Steve Rogers a paratrooper in hte US Army or something who is captured by Nazis and experimented on. They give him the Super Soldier serum, he escapes with his newfound strength, and when he returns to the US Army, he is given a mission to seize said serum and the experimental results from the SS.

On the comic adaptation Marvel did for the Iron Man movie, Howard Stark was the one that created the shield, and Tony based his armour off of it, hence why it was in the movie.

Anyway, why can’t they use the WW2 version of the Ultimates costume, the non-spandex one?

this is what should be happening.

Daniel Craig as Cap.

Ralph Fiennes as R.Skull.

1st half of the movie should be set in WW2, with the whole origin of the S.S serum, have Obidiah Stane give the shield as courtesy of Stark Industries, 1st half ends with Cap falling into the ocean saving Bucky/trying to stop R. Skull from escaping by chemical explosion fucking up R.Skull’s face.

2nd half should be dealing with the modern age, basically the whole fish out of water deal, being re-integrated into the s.soldier program, dealing with terrorists in southeast asia, learning the skull is still alive and leading the Hydra terrorist group.

oh and Stan lee should be an aged bucky.

I think Daniel Craig’s got the right build for it, plus he’s got that permanent look of somber defeat in his face from starring in the Invasion and the Golden Corral.

Joe Johnston to Direct ‘Captain America’

Joe Johnston will be directing First Avenger: Captain America for Marvel Studios. The director has signed a deal according to The Hollywood Reporter for the film which will open May 6, 2011 setting up the final pieces prior to that Julys Avengers film.

There is no casting as yet nor is there a screenwriter.

Johnston made his name as a special effects designer for George Lucas on the original Star Wars films prior to shifting to directing and his credits include genre fare such as the underrated The Rocketeer and next years Wolfman film with Benicio del Toro. Johnston met with Marvel Studio execs two years ago and hit it off so this is the culmination of that relationship.

Kevin Feige told the trade, “This is a guy who designed the vehicles for Star Wars, who storyboarded the convoy action sequence for Raiders of the Lost Ark. From Rocketeer to October Sky to The Wolfman, you can look at pieces of his movies and see how they lead to this one.”

Joe Simon and Jack Kirby created the star-spangled avenger for Timely Comics in 1941 and produced ten issues prior to leaving for DC Comics. The character, though, endured and became one of the three major stars of the comics line through the 1940s. He was briefly revived in the 1950s but lay dormant until Stan Lee created the Marvel Universe. For the fourth issue of the Avengers, he and Kirby told of how Captain America had been preserved in a state of suspended animation, trapped in a block of ice until the Sub-Mariner unwittingly tossed the chunk into the sea where the warmer waters melted the block. The Avengers found him and he returned to active duty. He has been a staple of Marvel Comics ever since.

The screenwriter’s resume doesn’t leave me with a warm and fuzzy. Everyone says I Am Legend was butchered compared to the source material, and there’s loose plot ends littered throughout the movie because of the drastic deviation from the source. I don’t remember much about The Cell other than being upset over 2 hours of my life lost, never to be regained.

Here’s hoping he doesn’t fuck Cap over.
