HD remix? 2nd biggest turnout at EVO?
Seriously, its going to stick around another year at least. While everyone longs for true “ST”, a lot of new players play Remix.
Everyone has a stick for HDR since it’s on a next gen system
HDR is more available for people to practice on
HDR is more widely played online
**I’ll be more than happy to accommodate other gamers to share a 2 bed room for the entire event if necessary. Doesn’t matter who, as long as they can provide their share and let me know in advance.
I’ll also bring my laptop for brackets if needed as a support. Although this is my first time at a Final Round event, I look forward for tons of hype, lots of drama, and what not.

I’m gonna try my damnedest to get 16 for a tourney in the world’s best, most slept on fighting game of all time: Vampire Savior.
I had no sign up’s for SC4 at SEB. This game is already dead and it will be worst by the time fr13 rolls around. It’s getting cut from the tournament. Both Smash games are on the edge because the turnout at seb was very low. I don’t know if the smash community respects me or my tournaments.
I don’t think that they are disrespecting you, Larry, you have done some good in the South East region, but it’s the fact that they could be disrespecting the rule set. I’ve hosted Smash tournaments in the past, and most Smash players don’t want to attend anything that isn’t SBR ‘certified’(read: following their rules) and others WON’T attend a non-SBR certified tournament. I think that it is crappy, but most Smash players don’t take into account the fact that it is the Tournament Organizer’s tournament, and it should be run using their rules, not what a select group of people tell you to think.
I say that to say this, Larry, it is your tournament! If you think that the reason why Smashers won’t show is because of the rule set, then you have EVERY right to drop Smash.

I disagree with that. The tournament is about the players, not the organizer. If somebody starting throwing SF4 tournaments, but said you had to play on 1 Round, 30 Seconds format… I’m pretty sure nobody would go out of their way to attend that tournament.
I could understand taking the stance of forcefeeding rules to the Smashers when the game was young, and rules were still being established, but at this point, they’ve decided what they want, and there’s no need to try to mold the game in any way. Either give it to them how they want, or don’t expect them to come.

That wasn’t my intention with the point, and comparing SF4 with Smash is like comparing apples to oranges. SF4 DEFAULTS at 2/3 rounds with a 99 sec. timer(and played that way), while Smash you can edit how long the timer is for, how many lives you have, or even if you allow items.
The problem with SWF/SBR is that they are taking Smash and try to make it into a hardcore fighter when it is not. Take this example, you are playing Brawl, now normally if both players are down to their last stock and they both lose it at the same time. What happens? You go to Sudden Death. Now tell me why if that exact same situation happens with Bowser initiating the attack, it would count as a win for Bowser according to the current SBR rules? I bet you dollars to cents you can’t.
That is why I hate SWF. They don’t open up discussion and they play theroycraft and expect you to accept what they tell you as gospel.
PLEASE drop Smash and make the Smash room into the Doujin room all weekend, this year.

Arbitrary distinction. At the end of the day, the community has decided how they’ll play the game, and what they’ll come out for. If that isn’t delivered, they won’t come out. It just makes sense.
Will Guilty Gear be at Final Round XIII? I know it’s listed, but unfortunately only 2 people showed up @ SEB so I don’t know if it’s still going to be a part of Final Round.

I dont think SC4 is dead yet, they still had a good turnout at EVO. Final Round had always had a SC game as far as I know and ATL is a great place for it. Can you give it one more chance? How many came to last years Evo for Soul, i thought it was around 80-100? And with algol banned it doesnt take that long! Its your call Larry but Atl has always been a hotbed of SC.
I use swf rules set given to me by well known smash players. I didn’t try to make them play with all the items on or some crazy shit their community isn’t use too. I got my rules from the smash community players, yet they don’t show. The only reason I haven’t droped both smash games is because of the people that did show understand that i’m trying to bridge the gap between the fight game community and the smash community.

That’s my point sir with soulcalibur. ATL is a hot bed for sc4 and when no one shows up that is a clear sign imo that sc4 is dead. I talked to most of the top sc4 players and they just don’t play sc4 anymore in the atl. I’ve always had soul cal at fr. With the smash community they just aren’t coming out. I use smash rules from the sw forums.

Final Round 13 Pre-registration is now open on www.finalround.org for early bird prepay on paypal. This will only last until october 31, 2009. You can also pre-reg without paying also for the games you plan to play at FR13. Just follow the instructions so we can get a better count of who is coming to FR13.
