FINAL RESULTS AND BRACKETS POSTED - The 4th Online SRK Brawl Tourney April 5, 2008

I’m abit busy at the moment, I’ll go ahead and give out my brief impressions now and chat more about it later on.

First off thank you Nasir for running this tournament, and thank you also for supplying a prize even though you didn’t have to!

The tournament turned out well for the most part, the only thing that is reaffirmed in my mind is the need to up the time limit. In the finals (out of the 13? I think matches we played) I believe 3 of the matches turned into sudden death. If we had even 30 seconds more a clear cut winner would have emerged.

As for items, In my case the tournament I participated in I got 2nd place… this time I got 1st. I really need to start joining more of these so we can get a clear cut picture on the ‘randomness’ and how it effects the top 3 spots. So far I have no problem at all with either tournament type, but I still prefer Evo (and by extension us) be open minding in testing out items before getting rid of them.

Stages… yeah the big loop stages that allow Metaknight to fly around forever = stupid. I personally think they should be taken off the stage roster even though it’s a ‘tactic’. It’s one thing if it were even possible to catch the person, but that’s abit ridiculous. With items on I could see it being slightly less of an issue… but even if someone gets a smash ball running can stop quite a few people.

There is only a 3 in 41 chance meta/pit will get one of those stages first game. And even if they are on it (from counterpicking it), they need to take a stock from you before they can runaway for the win. You could also counterpick someone with a final smash that can get them wherever (snake, sonic, etc)

Yeah I know there isn’t enough evidence to really outright ban it, but still it rubs me the wrong way. Everything I said about stages is purely preference.

What the hell? When did this even happen? I was waiting for the time to be updated the whole time. :bluu:

Damn. Wish I joined the site sooner.

Dont worry, we do one or two of these a week. Welcome to the metaclub?

Heh. Yes. Thank you for the welcome. Much more clean and civil then SWF.
