It’s done by capcom studio 8. is that Capcom USA or Jap?
It’s by the same team that made Maximo (which is a Capcom of America team) which is the same team that made Final Fight Revenge (though they’ve fortunately improved since then. …assumedly).
In regards to canonity, I imagine it’d be just as canon as Final Fight Revenge. Which means “Maybe.”
Does Cody still have blue eyes though? It’s hard to tell thus far.
Kinda like what Capcom of America did with Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight, and to a lesser extent, Sf Alpha 3, which felt like a different (not in a good way) fighter that featured sf cast.
Project Justice.
that would rule the school (NPI)
Bear in mind that I am the biggest Capcom Fanboy in existence. I still say they are making some of the best games out there, Devil May Cry 3, Resident Evil 4, and even attempting to inovate in today’s gaming world that lacks lots of inovation with games like Okami. However -
Do you really think that Capcom of Japan as it stands today actually gives a crap about Final Fight continuity? Yeah, if the game came out the same year SF2 Revival and Final Fight One came out on the GBA, the last time Capcom seemed to care about the SF/FF storyline. What have they done with this franchise since then?
Studio Udon asked Capcom as it stands today about Street Fighter’s storyline. Straight from Erik Ko, he said Capcom told him “There is no storyline. Each game exists within it’s own universe.”
?
Next they release the SF Eternal Challenge Book, which has wrong information such as Rainbow Mika competing in the SF2 Tournament and missing super obvious stuff like an arrow connecting Ryu and Sagat in the character relationship chart. As far as storyline goes, it really pails in comparison to the All About Capcom books back when you know, Capcom actually cared about SF’s story.
They gave the rights to SF to Capcom USA. OH CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE?
For the upcoming SF RPG Board Game, the creators are referencing TiamatRoar’s SF Plot Guide. Chances are there is no one left at Capcom who could actually give them GOOD storyline info.
Anyway, let me break this down to you. Final Fight Streetwise makes money = canon + sequels. Final Fight Streetwise flops = not canon, no sequels. And that is that.
Couldn’t put it better myself. It’s like Windwaker, the graphics isn’t what you expected, but give it a shot out of curiousity and it might be a good game.
From this site:

It says:
So thats good news.
What? and you think the gritty 3D games of that time didn’t have rectangles for arms?
We’re talking about design and style here rather than technology.
I agree with you 100% !!!
He said he wanted the game to look like Project Justice. I reminded him what Project Justice looked like. The end.
Design and style, so, you want Capcom to instead of making Final Fight like GTA, make it with Anime-ish looking characters in another phony Anime styled I’ve-never-left-Japan-but-I-think-this-is-what-New-York-looks-like (palm trees?) setting? Then buy Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance and skip this game. But I’m guessing that won’t please anybody either. You can still get Capcom Collections and play the old Final Fight, or get nothing, whatever…
Sigh
Don’t let them bother you Sano. When it comes to anything no matter how good it is , there will always be Bitches and complainers. I imangine they look like this > :annoy:
A new Final Fight game is coming out. That’s good enough for me.
What else has CS8 been up to lately, though? Maybe they asked?
Maybe after this, they can ask for Bionic Commando…
Hmm, if the product is quality, I could see this working. Capcom of Japan sticking to their newer franchises like Devil May Cry and mainstays like Mega Man, while Capcom USA gets to pick up on the “long lost” characters of old(as they also did with Ghouls N’ Ghosts and Maximo, despite the hoops they had to jump through).
First I’ve heard about this. I was a fan of the old White Wolf game, got a link for more of this?
Anyway, looking forward to this, it looks decent. A lot more f-words than I’m used to hearing from my game system, though…

Well, my mentioning of it is buried in the 250+ pages of the storyline thread (either that or it was deleted in the old one), but being as I’m the writer of the plot guide who was asked for permission, I can vouch that it happened. If you don’t believe me here when I say it, I don’t see what me linking to an old post of mine where I said it would help anyways, but they did say they’d give credit in the actual manuals or whatever of the game itself anyways, so…
But yea, I’m happy they’re dedicated so they’re using the guide, but you’d think Capcom of Japan would be able to provide that info themselves. Then again, even if the guide isn’t completely flawless by far, I wouldn’t be surprised if the guide right now details the storyline better than what’s left of Capcom of Japan could (not that CoJ can’t override it, but most of the original Street Fighter designers left Capcom by now).
Sorry, I wasn’t questioning the legitimacy of the claim, I just meant I didn’t know there was a new SF RPG being made; any links to more information? ^^;

best quote in the thread goes to sano
I dunno why some of you are moaning lets face it final fight has been going down hill since the 1st game
i would hardly call that a good franchise, so streetwise comes out and its pants like the rest big deal.
for me SOR2 is the greatest scroll beat em up, and remeber its on a megadrive/Genesis not some capcom arcade board imagine if it was oh dam.
Besides the 1st final fight is on that collection disc, so capcom didnt totaly forget you old school fans. :karate:
It’s funny you should mention that. There was talk about Capcom USA making a 3D Bionic Commando game last year, haven’t heard anything since.
And oh, I’m rather positive about Capcom USA about the possibility of Capcom USA making a Street Fighter sequel because I’d like to see SF4 within my lifetime. I don’t think they can crank out 2D since they’ve never done it, I’d love to see a Cel Shaded game myself, best of both 2D and 3D worlds. Hopefully Udon will get involved and help out with story and character designs, more great looking endings, box art, etc. And hey if it sucks, there’s always SF4 The New Challengers Giant Impact Turbo…
EDIT: Link for the SF RPG Board Game info.

re: Sf4 and cel-shading
UNless they (they = whoever wants to do it) can get the graphics to look like the new cel shading in the new Appleseed movie, they shouldn’t bother. In fact, until they can get the game to look like thatm they shouldn’t bother making SF4, period. Not that one can’t make a really good SF game without it looking good, but for the game to sell noticeably well, it needs to look drop dead gorgeous. People forget that when SF2 came out, it was the best looking, sounding and playing game of its time byt a vast margin.
The new FF? It looks like shit. An awful-looking GTA clone. The new character looks like a tool, and making him related to Cody reeks of terrible fanfiction IMO. True, it’s not as though FF is this great hallowed series (though I wouldn’t agree that it’s been going “downhill” since the first one; FF2 and FF3 weren’t that bad, and FF3 had a lot more technique than the first few games), but it still deserves better than this.
