I hope they fix things but so far they aren’t getting my hopes up based on track record.
The major difference with KI vs. SF5 to me was just the developers of KI were so transparent. They were talking to us and letting us know exactly what was going on and when things were coming out. Capcom is the polar opposite where we have no clue wtf they are doing or what they are going to fix.
Well the people that talked to us during/after development (Capcom USA) didn’t even really directly develop the game so that’s the main difference. They’re mostly messengers of Capcom Japan which are creating most of the clusterfuck and all they can do is relay the vague info they give them. Double Helix/Iron Galaxy are in direct development so it’s easier for them to be transparent as they were closer to the project.
Capcom Japan is just doing typical Japan development and probably won’t ever get the level of transparency from them as you would from an indie US company.
Reminder that we’re closing to 10th month since Street Fighter V’s release, and the following still haven’t been fixed:
Bland, inconvinient UI
No toggle for Character/Stage themes (even though it was present in the beta)
Player 2 can’t go back to the main menu or character select screen after the match
Matchmaking settings aren’t being saved
Training settings aren’t being saved
Capcom Fighters Network player search is wonky and requires precise nicknames to be entered instead of using proper search queries
Survival mode is still garbage (and a waste of time)
Arcade mode is still missing (promised since summer)
Extra Battle mode is still missing (promised since February)
PC version still doesn’t have D-Input
PC version still doesn’t have Keyboard rebinding
PC version still crashes when used with WACOM tablets or certain routers
Loads of clipping on the character models
Loading into matches both offline and online takes a ridiculous amount of time (up to 45 seconds)
The One-sided rollback is still there (not sure how frequent)
Battle Lounge search still doesn’t show connection quality or opponent’s country
Matchmaking regional filtering is still not implemented
The game continously fails to send data to the server after the match is done (although it does update with a 1-2 minute delay)
The ragequitting is still prevalent
The ragequitters are still not properly punished with LP deduction after every loss
The PS4 version still suffers from minor framerate drops here and there
The PS4 version still suffers from shadow dithering (shadows basically turn into black/white checkerboards)
The stage NPCs are rendered in 30fps instead of 60 (so either upgrade them to 60 or remove them entirely)
The results screen still takes too long to go through (when in SFIV you could mash X to rematch almost instantly)
The Story costumes require a purchase even AFTER unlocking them via Character Stories
The additional colors 11-15 require stupid amount of grinding to achieve (For both character EXP and FM)
The rest of the content (costumes, stages, characters) is priced higher than in other games with F2P models (even within the same genre)
The promised Linux port has still not been delivered
The game is “applying” the latest title update on every boot (for some reason), which increases the time from when you launch the game and get into the main menu
The netcode is still crap
The connection quality is shown in arbitrary bars insteas of actual ping numbers
The Ranked matchmaking doesn’t let you pick if you want opponents from same, lower, higher or any league
The LP earns/deduction is unbalanced (especially the further you and your opponent are separated in terms of LP/league)
There’s no Online Training
Fighter Profile stats are still pretty much broken
The loading screen Spider Chart is still useless
You still can’t message or add people in Friends directly from the game (to do that you need to first find their PSN or Steam profile)
You can’t see the Steam nickname of your oponent if he/she plays on PC (to send a message after the match)
The lobby chat is barebones and only has preset phrases
The voice chat is omitted completely (although not exactly an important feature)
CFN itself is very poorly integrated into both Steam and PSN
^ those are just ones I could think of right now, probably missing more. ALL of those need to be fixed. Yeah some of those aren’t vital and won’t decide the survival of the game, but the entire list are some of the needed QOL improvements this game NEEDS, since currently outside of the actual matches - the game provides you with an awful UX
Ken is a piece of garbage. Yeah yeah momochi blah blah blah. Whatever. Ken is garbage. give him something easier to punish with. The combos are very hard to get right with a crappy hit confirm.
Look at Ryu and his toys r us combos that any kid can do.
I know u won’t change any of this so I ask please change the damage output of this game so matches aren’t 2 seconds long if u make one mistake.
The damage output is way to high and in some cases insane!!!
This makes this game absolutely garbage fighter 100%.
How can u possibly play a game where u think ok I’m gonna try this on this guy because he’s a filthy bastard dahlsim. Then oops missed and game over. Ok next round let me
Try another move. Oops missed…game over.
This makes the game the most frustrating game I have eve played. I have never wanted to break things until sfv.
Side note I hated sf4. I like sfv but needs damage nerfs. Let’s play the game not one damn combo and a throw.
