Fighting game warmup/training regimen

I just play and learn as I go. Training mode is nice and all, but it shouldn’t be done for more than an hour, imo.

Me too. I have been learning ST, and my training has been almost all GGPO. The breakdown is probablyl 95% actually playing against opponents on GGPO, and about 5% combos on P2 dummy. Granted, not everygame can be played on GGPO, but for ST in particular, it has helped me to become at least half way decent. I can read SRK threads and mash on combos in training mode all I want, but untill you know what to do in situation X, and what your options are in situation Y, or what your opponents options are in situation Z, you are not going to be able to land that sweet cross up combo anyway.

So I guess I would have to say is that my training regimen is to start up GGPO. As of late I have been trying to learn O.Ryu, so I pick O.Ryu, and proceed to get slapped around a bit usually. He is getting better, slowly but surely.

I drink a ice cold 20oz glass of mango juice everyday!

(no homo)

10 reps of shooting 5 fireballs increases your fireball’s damage.

i jump into training mode try a few combos do some im probably not 100% and quit when im bored.

Practice exectuion is the main thing then practical application also in real matches. Also use training with a friend to find out ways around certain situation you may have been beaten by before. Example if someone beat you by doing splash times 1000 with Gief in X game, then recreate i it training and find a way to beat it.

Lots of ectasy and coke, pure rockstar style shit for me.

The day before a big casual or tourney, I stay up and practice combos in arcade/training mode. Then I enter the tourney with at least 2 cans of Rockstar to put me on focus and half a pack of cigs to keep calm.

Are you the same LunaSlave who PM’ed me on Youtube? If so, you wanted to learn ST right? I can help you. :nunchuck:

minus the ex an instead smokes and boose, then ya, thats the winning combo:woot:

one and the same. i’ve been playing ST, and fighting games in general, for years - my problem is that my learning curve seems to have plateaued, and i feel stuck at roughly the same level i’ve been at for ages. ST is my favorite game, but I’m into others as well, in particular 3s, SS2, and KOF '98. help, tips, etc would be very appreciated  let’s play on ggpo sometime.

Play Flash Flash Revolution

I never got GGPO to work and 2DF is hit and miss for me. With STHD coming out next week, I’m at least gonna give it a try on XBL a few times but as you can tell from my channel, I play offline with the amount of matches/sets recorded, I host almost every week. Add me on MSN (b_unit905@hotmail.com).

Haha. I used to play that a lot, then I just randomly stopped, but now I play again from time to time.

On topic: I don’t think there is anything that could “prepare” you to play a game. You just kind of, sit down and play it I guess.

one big size red bull

one 20oz mt dew or vault

about a half of a pack of cigarettes with one in between each match

EDIT

this is not a joke post
