This guys were the creative minds behind SF2 so I would trust team, Their groove system is really worth its not the usual bland execute activation then worked and it’s not complicated even it had it’s technicality.
Gougi system seems interesting. My only concern is that it may influence playstyle a little too much. Knowing what you (and your opponent) have to do to get those sweet buffs, the game might turn into a cat and mouse deal where the whole match is spent avoiding the enemies’ gougi minigame. Could be fun, could not. We’ll have to see what happens as the game develops.
I like the thing that it influence the playstyle a little much because it makes people think which is suitable to their playstyle individually than the otherwise of just easy single tap activation
Gougi system adds a depth in mind game for thinking its gonna be about avoiding it’s hard to tell because monitoring enemy is confusing it like monitoring super gauge?
The conditions isn’t just about a single trigger to execute it’s multiple condition so the possibility of monitoring each other would just lead to waste an opportunity rather than play responsibly.
I trust this guys innovation since this doesn’t break the FG fundamentals this have been done some time in pocket fighters and other FG but in a single trigger this one is multiple.
If we are fearing the run game that is present in all case for every installs in other games.

Yep. And depending on how long they’ve been making this game, and what kind of budget they have, we may still be left wanting a few that will be added in via updates.

So clemence and darun may never be in a single title unless they would alter clemence big time.
What bothers me was just Darun belt hanging on his shoulder its quite a bit but the rest from gougi system and character possibilities is inresting.

Even half of the non-confirmed characters + 5 already in the game would prove to be a very solid roster
I like the graphics of the game. Looks pretty.
But there were a few things which made the announcement of the two characters not as hype as other reveals imo:
- the sounds of hits are still not impactful enough
- when Darun Mister was on the screen, there were a lot of clipping issues with him and his grabs and he apparently also has rubber arms which you can see in slow mo during his animations
- some animations still look a bit clunky
I hope they will improve these things. The game looks good, but some of the other aspects need some work.
Most of the character design in Fighting Layer and Ex never aged badly and had a lasting impression, That is why still pretty decent nowadays since they were based from the 80’s and 90’s era which had very strong impression and long influences in fashion industry and pop culture that made them recurring, legendary and iconic.
Unlike some other FGs(mostly from chinese indies and japan doujin) that easily outdated because the designs that were applicable for a short time life span that is appeal to particular 2k’s trends which is ever changing.

I was like with similar analysis with Max in the first place yet overall this video is more like correct… Anyway both unlimited super and super armor indeed break the basic fundamentals of a 2d fighter and the same with guard cancel.
Those powerup like install should be like a timed thing with more easier requirement activation so it would still appreared more frequenty every round but not cannot lead to dominate every match.
The sound effects and animations are all straight up from SF EX right now
Really hope those are “placeholders” for now while the game is still in the phase of active development, this ain’t gonna fly for a 60$ release next year
They are placeholders just like the animations from the first demo, that were changed in the EVO build.
Interesting so they’re using chains instead of links, supers combo into supers and every character has a run.
I wouldn’t be too caught up on the assets yet, as the game doesn’t even have a confirmed title. It is most likely VERY early in production.
Other things they could do is make it last only throughout the round rather than the whole match with slightly harder conditions.
