This game in training mode is amazing so far. Movement feels really good, your normals are nice and long, Allen has a cancelable sweep, the game is based on chains but not in a stupid way.
Holy shit this game is gonna be lit.
Edit: This game is so lit that you can switch characters from the training menu without having to go back to char select.

Darun and Hades is fucking retarded. Also being able to command grab out of blockstun seems kind of crazy. When Darun would do his lariat super i would block that shit and then he would cancel into his grab super and you can’t jump out of it. Maybe the blockstun isn’t that long on it and I can jump out of it.
I actually like the Gougi system it really changes up how matchups are played. Like if someone has the Hades one (Super Armor) got a figure out ways get damage without knocking them down which kind of makes me play a more hit and run style. Really enjoying the game so far. Really hope it comes to pc.
I’m new to Fighting Layer so I don’t know if this is just new to this game or not but did the previous games change properties of attacks when running and when just doing regular standing attacks? For instance, with Garuda Standing Fierce usually pushes him too far back for him to combo into Standing Medium but if you hit with a Running Fierce he doesn’t get pushed back as much and can link his Standing Medium.
Far as I remember, Fighting Layer had sidesteps, but no running.
fighting layer was a 3D game where certain characters like Janis (the gun toting weirdo) could do some 8 way run stuff and another guy would set down shrooms to do…SOMETHING. For reference!
Some shit I noticed with Garuda
S.Fierce can be super cancelled but not special cancelled
He can chain into his B.HP and B.HK command normals
You can link his Cr. lp into his Cr. lk
Same goes for his Crouching MP into his Cr.MK
B.HP and B.HK cannot be super or special cancelled
MP+MK command normal can be super cancelled
Running HP can link into St.MP
His qcbx2+k can be charged so might be a good way to catch an opponent on knockdown.
I’ve been using the Infinite super gougi with him seems like a good fit since from how I’ve played him he can be a bit meter hungry.
