I use akuma and cant seem to beat people using Abel. They do the roll on the ground then throw me

You can throw them out of the roll.

On a slightly more serious note u do have a teleportā¦
or you could throw him during the roll
if anything its the fucking block stun on his kick [ f mk i think] that you will learn to hateā¦ also you can bait and ultra that roll
hes +1 on f+mk. Throw will beat everything he tries, unless he does command throw.
Do any of his Raging Demons if you suspect him to roll. Buffer it with a Crouching Roundhouse. Bait him to roll through your poor footsies.

abel is still a match-up in akumaās favor.
I love Abel fights. They roll, I BnB. Whether he rolls towards you, or through you (behind you), and as long as you can bait him (which should be easy, apparently he is rolling a lot!), you are free to punish. After his roll is done:
Immediately throw
c.lp > BnB (or any combo starter, or you BnB of choice)
Ultra 1 (and probably U2)
Teleport away
If you are getting hit or thrown a lot, you are just being too predictable. Once you punish his roll once or twice, I promise you he will stop those immediately. If he punishes you after each rollā¦well then, I promise you he will NOT stop.
One more thing to do - c.HK -> setup

BTW, since each of his rolls depending on strength last slightly longer and need punished slightly later, from my own tests the timing of punishment with sweep is based off of the sound of abel when he uses the move. just learn to grab rolls that cross you up and punish the rolls that are at a distance with sweep after hearing his voice and you should be golden.
good abels space their rolls still. only problem i have is wen they roll underneath a air fireballā¦ i know im screwed for atleast a TT
