Itâs because he is a projectile character in the 3s engine.
Replying the the ArksysVsCapcom thread below, I dont think itd be successful unless Arksys made it. Theyd make it 2D which would please long time SF fans at least. If Capcom made it then too many XTekken hatred would follow to it, and honestly BB characters and other FG characters theyve made wouldnt look good in the SF4 style 3D. Kinda hope they maybe the SF characters would look like the 3rd Strike sprites though and the anime FG characters would be the same, so that way it actually looks like 2 universes clashing.
Well get ready to vomit then.
Well, that was unexpected. I wonder what this means for Killer Instinct.
It means nothing, theyâll keep working on the games till the contracts expire.
This doesnât mean as much as a lot of people think

Being a projectile based character in 3S is like being a grappler based character in a VS. game.
Remy is not really projectile based
Like the design of the character is not to stand full screen and throw fireballs. He can use fireballs to control spacing and force the tempo to whatever he wants it to be at. Which letâs him set up his game etc.
People act like they stuck Guile in 3s and the engine made him bad. But Remy is not Guile. You have to look at the whole moveset. Fireballs are only a part of his game. Heâs pretty clearly meant to be more active.
I guess you can argue that itâs a design change necessitated by the engine, but I donât think thatâs what people mean when they say âhe sucks because you can parry fireballs.â Or whatever variation of that.
Parrying nullifies projectiles because theyâre the easiest thing to parry is what he meant, I believe. My assumption was that because Remy is essentially a charge character at certain moments he would have to sacrifice charging a projectile to parry an attack.
Is there a video for this stream?
I asked this question because the game I intend to make has a system thatâs similar to parrying. I was trying to figure out how Iâd make charge characters as efficient a non charge characters, which I think Iâve figured out how to do. I can explain how but Iâll only really know if it works if/when I actually play the game which wont be for quite some time.
ARC SYSTEM WORKSxCAPCOM, i put this crossover up in another post and was basically told to post it here, why post it again? `cause i want to see other peoples reaction and opinions.

The last time they tried that, stuff happened (Sega/Sammy acquisition) and we got Sengoku Basara X instead.

The reason we got Sengoku Basara X wasnât related to the original ASW x Capcom at all.
The original project was Sammy vs Capcom, which included games from the projects published by sammy like GG, TRF.
Sega Sammy happened and the project got canned.
Years later Capcom simply aproached ASW for SBX, the quality of the game suffered because it was obviously meant to be an easy cash grab that was heavily rushed, not to mention that was done using the faulty engine of HnK, plus both companies were busy working on their real main projects at the time, BBCT and SF4
The reason why we have SBX is because Capcom wanted to profit from the popularity of the SB franchise and since they donât longer have in house fg studios they contacted the one who is more dominant on their homeland.
Huh thatâs a nice history lesson, thx. And even if a game like ASWxCapcom were to come out it wouldnât get to far would it?

Depends, I can picture the game working if they choose a bunch of non-SF characters. ASW has a bunch of weapon/mythos/fantasy characters with swords and weapons (Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Battle Phantasia, etc.), Capcom can bring out Warzard, Darkstalkers, Cyberbots, Star Gladiator, Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Son-son, that new pirate game that they put Ruby Heart in, and whatever other titles that fit within the same thematic aesthetic.
Games like Cyberbots already have 8 way airdash and even have instant air stop and Darksalkers has fast movement and open up/pressure options that perhaps are even faster than Guilty Gear. So in terms of mechanical overlap, there is more to breathe with if they choose characters from those titles instead of focusing on just SF characters, although they can opt to put in Marvel 2 Dhalsim because of mobility and options.
It can work, itâs whether or not who develops the game are creative and competent enough to execute it. I donât think either company would be that interested in the project right now and I donât think Capcom wants to put much of their old fighting game IPs like Star Gladiator, Rival Schools, Warzard, Cyberbots, and etc. into newer games since there are no current games to represent those brands.
That said, Ruby Heart and May on the same team might be cool
Edit: Thinking about it, Breath of Fire representation would be perfect (and thereâs that dumb Breath of Fire 6 mobile game that came out/is coming out recently to represent the brand.)
