Disgaea is indeed about getting as broke as fuck. The thing is, even at your most broke, there are some enemies and/or bosses that will still push your shit in if you’re not careful. Lots of emphasis on grinding and stat building in Disgaea. It’s mad fun.
Max level in all Disgaea games is 9999. Not 99, not 999. 9999.
Before 4 was released, I thought the cap was increased to 99999, but that wasn’t the case. Still insane, though. I don’t even know what the max amount of damage is… I’ve seen over 500 million damage before…
Playing through the main game with uniques gets boring, though. I really need to go through the game doing one of those single-class runs. Unless you go Chemist, shit sounds challenging.
I once read about a team where ramza is a mimic and you get 4 dancers using sunken state to turn your party invisible. Since dance/mimic never requires actions you never break hide. you kill through dance.
There is a list here that has many games, but they aren’t separated by system. Like, it tells you the systems they are from, but they aren’t separated into categories or anything numerically.
I’ve only played FFT, so I have no other experience with other TRPGs on other systems.
Yeah, there’s a number of fucked up broken strats in FFT. The Quickening, Meth Skill, 3 Dancer/2 Mime, TP Draw Out Wizards, Chemists packin’ Battle Skill… it’s kinda why PvP FFT gets stupid even when you ban uniques/monsters. You have to take out a clause saying you can only have 1 of a given class in your team and outright ban Meth Skill to make shit even remotely balanced. And then you still have to deal with that fucking Wizard.
Have played or own half of those games & couple of games i never opened…Didn’t even no Fire Emblem was a tactical game haha…My favorite tactical game is Gladius…
It looks like a chain of counters in a free play mode. Each counter seems to double the damage of the last hit and the characters are probably limited in the number of counter actions. There were 37 counters total. I did some math, but it didn’t come out to the same damage, so the counters probably don’t multiply damage by exactly 2.
I didn’t either until I played it at a friends house one day, it just looks a little ugly is all, just an opinion. Talking about it’s grid system. I just prefer isometric fields.
Is Valkyria Chronicles considered a tactical RPG? All I remember is that scouts are broken when leveled up all the way, and get the ability to occasionally move twice in one turn. Makes capping bases very easy. Also the sniper that pretty much doesn’t miss due to her cross hair being a dot eventually.
Why did they have to put the sequels on PC or not send them over at all.
Fire Emblem is pretty dope. I know it looks bland, but it’s the TRPG that forces you to think about spacing the most. In other games, once you are a decent level, you can pretty much move or teleport any distance or at least attack any distance (Disgaea FTL).
I highly recommend Path of Radiance on the GC.
The only broken scouts in VC were Alicia and Akira. Wavy deserves an honorable mention but he won’t reach nowhere near Akira usefulness. Akira is basically a mini Alicia, but Alicia is the best character in the game by far.
Not really. Advance Wars stresses spacing/capturing tactics of maps more than Fire Emblem, and both are made by the same company. Fire Emblem is heavily reliant on statistical manipulations from weapons, character growth, and the RNG.
