The reason your getting a bad reception is because you didnt ask yourself, “Does this question really deserve its own THREAD?” We have threads to discuss entire games like Blazblue, recent issues of arcade based magazines, theory/thoughts on winning and losing and maybe some fun stuff to ask people about their personal experiences in fighting games. These are all broad topics that can foster a lot of discussion and input from the community.
Creating a whole thread to ask a question people “Don’t you think there should be a female counterpart to Ken? I do. Discuss.” is in a way trying to have conversation with the whole board on your random thought, or fun idea. It’s not a topic about fighting games, its a topic about you and what you think would be fun. It’s fine to post up random thoughts or ideas that you think are fun, but it could have easily been asked as a post in a ken sub-forum in the SF4 section, or in an already established topic. Creating a whole thread for it, is a bit much, and clutters up the boards.

But seriously, dude, think about the topic you posted. A female version of Ken? Really, that would be rather pointless and trivial in series that has already gave him a student (Sean) and a couple of rivals (Ryu, Rufus). The series already has it’s fair share of “shoto” characters, so why do we need to add another one?
See? It ain’t so hard when you put some thought into it. You’d save yourself time, save the forum a waste of a thread and save everyone else’s time bothering to respond to such a thread.
Fanwishing, versus and list threads are frowned upon in FGD. Checking the rules is always a must before starting threads, hell, don’t start threads even until you find something that’s really worth a topic to discuss about.
