My girlfriend plays fighting games. She loves fighting games more than any other game. She is a big SF and KOF fan. She also enjoys CvS2 as well. She isnāt as good as me, but sheās getting there pretty quickly. Her favorite characters on SF are Cammy and Chun. on KOF: Mai, Yuri, Leona, Athena. On CvS2 her team: Mai, Morrigan, Cammy. Yeah. She even played fatherbrain the other day and did about as well as I did the first time I played him. She absolutely DOMINATES at Soul Calibur II and sheās pretty good at Tekken as well. If you canāt tell, she plays as all girls. She just doesnāt like playing as the guys, though occationally sheāll play as Kim or Hwoarang, strictly because they fight with the same style as her. She takes TaeKwonDo.

Anyways there is this girl Megan, aka, Sophitia, that plays in PA. She is BEAST. I know, because Iāve met her. And sheās hot. She can kick ass in SC2, and I think tekken, too.
Girls just donāt play many games because a lot of them think it is immature and they are raised to play with dolls and make-up, not controllers.

Alrightā¦first off, delete this thread. I canāt believe another one of these ghey threads came back. But anywayā¦I was talking to someone and they told me of some five categories of āgirl gamerā which was funny b/c of how true it was:
" + True - girls that play for fun and love to play fighting games for the games itself. They are often focused and are often the ones that do fairly well in tournies and are well known.
- Attention whores - the worst kind of girl gamer. THey usually post half naked pics of themeselves and scream that they are a hot girl to get attention from nerds adn other desperateā¦weird people. They suck. Geezā¦if you want a boyfriend just go to a club or something?
- Cupholder- guy gamerās girlfriends. USually stand around and watch and when they play they really donāt know what they are doing. Some however are pretty good.
- Fragdoll/Scrub - Are the type that go āgirl power and girls rule!ā and think that just b/c they are a girl they are good. They play only to show how much girls rule and how their girliness is. They are usually really annoying and talk too much crap. THey are usually girls who have little brothers and then brag about how they beat their brother.
- Attention-whoring-scrub - USually are the sisterās of brothers and tag along them and their friends and play all the same games as them. They brag about win streaks against scrubs and make it known that they are girl. They expect insta-praise b/c they are girl gamers. Though they can set up comobos and do decent they are still never anything but āgood for a girlā. They are overhyped and donāt deserve any of their hype and never do good in tournies (unless aginast scrubs). They put up this front, like all the others, that they are hardcore but they play just to get special attention and such. They are like the second worst type. "
Bottom line is that girls that play games are not a rarity but girls that are actually good at them are a rarity. The only way girls will ever EVER get respect is by actually winning tournaments. Yukino is the only person that has done that and she beat Daigo. Props to her. Ryu Shinnosukeā and Goukigirl are excellent marvel players and have the highest potential of anyone in the world at becoming top players. Junknown does fairly well in tournaments and has very skilled mishimaās and sushi was a pretty good tekken player. Sophitia for SCII. Basically if youāre not one of those poeple who cares about you.

Next toi 90% of girls play for the wrong reasons and are overhyped and donāt deserve it. Itās sad and pathetic how a lot of them get sucked into their fanboys and only play to get attention and stuff. THe saddest part is that i donāt think girls will EVER actually win tournies and get the respect that they āwantā. I mean RS and GG have pure potential to do it and Yukino already did it. BUt itās sooo sad how the minute some girl can do some simple comobo they are overhyped. Nothing sticks out aside from the fact that they are girls. Example would be some girl I heard about that went to Tekken nats. Funny thing b/c i NEVER heard an ounce about her during the actual tourney. People hyped her five months later or so. As far as I heard she could do simple stuff like setting up combos but nothing stuck out about her aside from the fact that she was a girl. OF course it ended up being that the only reason she was there was b/c in her regional qualifier only three people entered and they were all scrubs. It ended up that this girl people were hyping was nothing more than some loud mouthed scrub who spammed and bragged about win streaks on scrubs( everyone knows win streaks mean nothing). She also supposedly spent the whole tourney flirting with top players and put up this front that she was all hardcore. Iām a class A liar so I know when someone lies. At first I thought it was a bunch of people being haters but when I actually read some posts and stuff yeahā¦things kind of made themselves obvious.
Girls can possibly do it and can but they need the time and dedication and they need to stop playing for all the attention. Its pretty sad. I love playing fighting games and itās the greatest stress reliever for me. Iāve played since age 5 or 6 and I do want to be great at it b/c itās what I like to do. I just wish I had constant comp and time to practice (and I wish I was 18). I know I want to get a good name by winning tournaments and actually being good and not being good for a girl. But overrated girl gamers that do nothing but play just to get attention and not even play for the fraekin fun of it and end up being stuck up pieces of $hit make the rest of us look bad. Girls can have the potential to do great but need to get a reality check and take the time to learn and have fun and actually be dedicated to the game.

anyone that plays with empire arcadia is bound to be good, matter of fact anyone that can compete in CTF is bound to be good. although this is just my opinion. anyone with a good learning curve can do very well at CTF, they just have to pay attention to what the people do and copy that shit, cause thats how u get better by watching others and seeing what works then applying to to your own game. yea this works anywhere in the world, but CTF imo is just far superior over 90% of the country for when it comes to the normal crowd and shit.
regarding the above post, i totally agree. there are girls in a few places i play that just play to get attention and shit, very pathedic imo. but the people some of you all are talking about like the girl who beat daigo, that is skill there and there is no doubt about that, and that does deserve praise. Considering daigo is one of japanās top GGXX players.
