So I did alright. Lost to Mr. SNK’s Honda, which wasn’t so bad. He had some great tricks which I didn’t really anticipate.
I got knocked out by a Rose player. Failed to do cl.MP xx CW punishes on her when I had the opening. I also got slammed by her U1 a lot due to bad CWs. Argh. It shouldn’t have been that bad of a loss, but I fucked up. Sigh well there’s always next weekend.
Rose Player will be straight obnoxious and use unsafe Soul Spirals knowing its rarely punished. Gotta hit up training and show them its not free to throw out.
On a completely unrelated note. I’m gonna be gone for quite a while so goodluck Fei players. Mago has shown we gotta step our game up.
well i dont have experience with good dudley or ibukis…and i havent been able to play the game as much as i use to…wheven i do play im usually getting beat by random stuff like this
but i didnt mean punish them on block btw…i meant on reaction
For Ibukis who spam neckbreaker you must block it first. You can’t flame kick it on reaction. Just walk forward and keep crouch blocking slowly.
This is actually one of those matches where I really wish I could walk faster, chasing after an ibuki flipping and sliding all over the place is real tedious.
yh ive been looking at the Fei forums throughout the day man … there were 60 at on point…and im like what has happened regarding fei long that i am not aware of?
Rising, but from the looks of it, Tokido’s Fei is still immature. I think all in all, there’s no reason for him to switch from Akuma either. Not like Akuma has a particularly ghastly time against anyone that Fei would be a really good counter-pick for.
Yeah I noticed Tokido on the leaderboards today, I figured he’s taken notice of Mago’s convincing victory and is figuring Fei out more than anything. Who knows, maybe he’s sick of Akuma?
well i like to test a lot of chars as well, im sure hes just fucking around, putting himself in a fei players mind.
I find its a good way to analyse a characters options, so that when u fight that particular char, u know the essence of what ure fighting…hum prob too spiritual, but i think u all got the gist of it.
Akuma vs Fei is a 5-5 match-up at best, if not i feel Fei has a slight advantage.
^^ come to think of it, this is probably why Tokido picked up Fei. He’s probably just prepping for a runback with Mago sometime in the future, hence the video of him playing against Eita’s Akuma. Just learning Fei’s approach to Akuma in general I suppose.
Up Your Game.com is hosting streams for XBL and PSN from 9pm EST onwards.
Schedule as follows:
Monday: PSN East Coast casuals Tuesday: PSN West Coast casuals Wednesday: PSN 3v3 King of the Hill Thursday: XBL 3v3 King of the Hill Friday/Saturday: XBL/PSN First to 5 Ranbats (challenges accepted)
Also, the front page of the site has details on PSN and XBL Ranbats which are held tournament style. Some very strong competition there and a great crew maintains the stream. I’ve been on Peaceful Jay’s and SRKLive’s streams before and I can say that UYG’s has the most consistently strong players. There’s no noob-hour or exclusive pro-lobbies. Anyone can join, but the base community is solid and people actually discuss the matches in IRC. I encourage you guys to participate if you can; it’s a great environment to try to level up in if you’re tired of plain old Ranked mode or Endless lobbies with randoms.
So here’s something for you guys to ponder. I was thinking in recent tournament matches, it may actually be better to delay a match and cause psychological damage to an opponent than to finish them off immediately. By that I mean, I’ve been trying to make the last portions of matches really frustrating for my opponent if I have the life lead, turtling and just generally being an asshole. I think, that may be something that carries over to the next round and may be of some use, instead of hurrying and finishing them when you have the lead. This also leads to less random come backs and what not, so overall, I think it’s a pretty useful skill to master when you have the chance. I think people have psychological stamina just as fighters have physical stamina…so if you can wear them out when you have a safe lead, it will benefit you in the next round.
Just throwing it out there for you guys to think about. How do you guys feel on this?
