Its a whole lot easier. Learn your rekka spacing and hit your BnB and soon u will become a kung fu movie star.
Truthfully. Quite a bit harder. Why? How many Guiles and Kens do you see compared to Fei Long?
The main reasons being Fei requires a greater deal of patience and also people generally don’t get how rekka’s should be used. He’s not a execution heavy character but the reason people don’t stick with him is that if you do fuck up, you eat damage. Where as Guile and Ken have easy bnb’s. If you can master the rekka and also the cr.lp xx rekka like Ugo say’s then your all good.
I can play most of the SF2 cast including Ken and Guile to a half decent level. But I’d say Fei took me the longest and he’s my main.
Do a search in this thread for various rekka techniques or look 3 posts up at my last advice for another member. It’s all in the timing.
Thanks for the quick reponses.
I will see what informations I can gather to step up my game.
Not trying to discourage you in any way , just that he’s not really a flow chart character outside his superb footsie game (which in truth is a massive part of SF4). If your looking for an easy path top tier character to supplement your game, Cammy would be head and shoulders above anyone by miles.
Hi
Im a total noob and I want to learn Fei.
My main is Ryu but I thought I need another char so I can change between them.
Where do I start? Is there site/vids I should watch?
Fei Long Master guide in the stickie’s has everything you need to know.
Watch Fuudo and Mago vids for an idea of how Fei should be used with regards spacing and pressure.
Any tips for executing CW after fadc ? I always seem to get a jumping rh kick .
- Practice the motion.
- Press RH exactly the same time as you reach up-forward. Otherwise you’ll get J.RH.
Hey everyone,
There doesn’t seem to be a match matching thread on the Fei forums,
I’m looking for a solid confident Fei Long to fight against.
I use Gouken - I’m on PSN - Location is the UK (USA, Japan or Canada seem to be my unplayable regions, anything else is fine.)
If your interested, my PSN ID: Black-Toof
Thanks for your time guys.
You don’t have to rush. After you dash cancel you can pretty much pause to gather yourself and input the cw. If you do it too quickly sometimes another fk comes out. It’s just timing. You can cw -fadc, pause a split second then cw. Vs most of the shotos you want to wit a bit anyway to land 3 hits off the cw. Practice on Ryu and get the timing down so your landing 3 hits on the cw. You’ll be fine after that.
What do people do for Rekkas? I’ve been looking at threads. Some people Piano, others don’t. I think I wouldn’t find this character hard really (as opposed to Viper), if I was actually consistent with my Rekkas. I find them awkward to do coming from charge characters. I’ve been advised to just go from cr.lp into it as it’s easier and I’m a Fei beginner.
Can you hit seth 3 shoryuken hits?
Fei long vs Dee Jay.
What do I do against his pressure and knee jump ins?
cr.mk to make it whiff and then tickle him
You right. It stumped my progress when you did that.

Lol you guys are still trying to say Fei is a skillful character to say smh
Yup hes really easy, dont sell your soul to the devil i love your videos but stick to your mains imo if you wanna pick a new char i reccomend Ryu, hes alot of fun, hes a tough character to learn you need to be on point with your spacing or else you will get demolished.
You just dished Fei up then tell us Ryu is hard to use?
Who can’t play Ryu is what I want to know! The guy’s got double plinks on every combo he’s got and option selects coming out his ears! Not to mention a 3 frame Dp and the best crouching normal in the game. There’s a reason Ryu is recommended for beginners.
I can’t play Ryu lol. I tried but it’s just weird for me.

Fei is much harder to get into than Ryu. I mean come on that is why 75% of the characters you run into online are Ryu.
Lol cmon guys. You serious now?
How many Ryu mainers are left that do damage on evo besides Daigo. And everyone agrees that Daigo makes Ryu much better than he is.
