Does anybody have any tips on how to land consistently counter hit cl.st.MP -> Ultra 1 ? I’ve managed to pull it off several times by buffering the motion in the animation of my MP and hit forward + PPP after, but it’s still hard as hell to do.
I think Neville has something in has lab thread. Kara Ultra using the CW motion for the final forward input.
The risk reward is too high for my liking. Never even attempted it outside of training room fuck arounds.
Found it thanks. Cool stuff.
I would never ever try this. Not even in a casual fuck around match
Hey I have a question - what’s with ppl from these forums who are A level never giving a rematch. Joonthebaboon, barely beat me by mashing DP and Ultra any chance he got, and promptly sends me a “you suck message” . I wasn’t impressed w his play.
The elitist mentality of many here is a joke. Had I beat him and booted him. He’d rage out. I’m growing weary by the community attitude and ppl like this guy.
Wasn’t he a mod on here i can see why SRK took away his mod status.
Yea. I know my post didn’t belong here but i felt compelled to ask. Everyone knows how I feel about my own play, mediocre at best, but this guy, 20,000 matches and poor attitude and he was hardly impressive to behave that way. Sigh.
Oh well back on topic.
Btw do you really have to use Mago in your youtube video tags i see nothing but your videos when searching for Magos Fei matches!
I’ve found more often than not the best players are either complimentary or silent. Anyone sending rage is usually either drunk or not very good. Since I don’t really play Ranked I’m not subjected to much rage but it still happens in Endless.
Ive found complimenting the rager - something like “Your Ryu’s very good I could do with some practise” works a charm, then you proceed to beat the living shit out of them 8 straight and you usually get a “GGS man” back. I did this with a Vega player the other week. Now he plays me all the time.
Be the better player, rage is for losers.
Lmao now you know why I do it? More ppl who see better chance for feedback.
I do apologize though if it’s annoying.
It was endless, that’s why I was put off by it.
Hey can someone give me input on the juri match upi can never beat that bitch
Pls help
GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP! This is my pool. Does anyone know any of the names in my pool and who do they main?
Question for you guys in regards to block strings. On a basic level, what is my goal. Should my block strings leave me just at the fringe of rekka range? I literally only have one block string, its too predictable and I need to expand to keep the pressure on.
Thanks in advance.
This is a hard one. It all depends on your play, life, spot on stage and the character your facing. They are far to many things to factor. Do I want to set up for a counter hit, whiff punsih, bait a reversal, setup tickthrow, force them to block high and so on. Its not always good to end a block string at rekka range because the other player can punish a rekka with a NJ, FA, cr normal. This is a hard one honestly. It all depends on your play style. I like to use my block strings to just condition the player to block so I can go for a exgc at some point or get them to hit buttons to counter with stlp>rekka.
But the block strings I used the most if you would like to try is as follows
3x crlk, delay crlp at like such a small fraction then confirm rekka off of crlp. If the player is hitting tech on each crlk the delay rekka will counter the next tech and go into a rekka. If they dont tech they may FA after the 3rd lk with in turn the crlp>rekka will blow up FA.
crlk, stlp, delay, stlp>rekka the delay is to take advantage of the plus frames on block which setups counter hit.
There are a few more I use and to me they are all in rhythm. Thats why I hate lag because its like muscle memory when I use block strings.
I’ve just started playing Fei and I feel like I’ve finally found my character. Fei is fun.
Anyway, so as a new Fei player, what is the first things to focus on in TRAINING MODE? I got down the DP-FADC-CW and the CW-cr.lp-rekkas to a point where i can do them somewhat reliably in training(well, the CW-cr.lp anyways), but I’m having trouble hitting 'em in a real match. But anyways I thought that maybe there are better things to focus on so I thought I might as well ask!
Any tech that is like really really super important as a Fei player that I should get working on ASAP?
Oh, and also: Please endless me! I’m willing to play anyone, noob to pro.
Sonic Slow @ XBL
I’m from Sweden and got a pretty decent connection. I can usually play east coast US people without much lag unless they have crappy connection.
Thanks Jason. I knew it was a loaded question when I typed it. As I get more comfortable with the game and start to really understand match ups and analyze situations then I can start getting into the more advanced things you just brought up as far as decision making goes. At this point, I just want a base of block strings that I know so I can apply them to a given situation when that time comes. Right now I just have nothing in that regard, and from playing you, I can see how effective good block strings and frame traps are. Most of your block strings and normal choices are things I never though of using. You are pummeling me with those things.
Trust me I was in your shoes not so long ago. I just study a lot of top players and see what works best for them and try to imagine myself in that position to get a idea of what they were thinking while they were playing. Then if I see something the worked. It happened to be a simple string and I expand on it with a minor wrinkle what would be the result. Again there is a lot to factor and it will all come with time. But again best bet is to learn Hitboxes and frames and know what your working with as well as the characters options. Knowing these 2 will help with block strings as you will learn better spacing. It takes time. I only have been playing seriously for 2yrs now. This game has been out for almost 4yrs so I am strip playing catch with the best
Thanks again. I don’t suspect I’ll get to the level that your at any time soon but I’d like to try, lol.
When watching Mago and Fuudo I noticed that they are both using cr.lp - st.lp as some kind of counter poke or something. They stand at a distance where the punches won’t connect throwing their punches around.
There are a couple of examples of this at 5:45 and later in this video of Fuuda:

Why exactly are they doing this? I personally pretty much only do that kinda stuff when I’m suspecting they will throw out a random machinegun blow or something else that’s hard to deal with on reaction, but I doubt there are alot of that kind of random specials at Fuudo’s and Mago’s level of play.
