Much appreciated guys. I have a lot of work to do. Haven’t really played ultra and didn’t think the transition would show my rust that much lol. He’s still good I just can’t abuse the things I used to and it shows.
is it possible to plink PPP? I tried 3P~PPP on my stick, but the input display will only register the 3P rather than 3P followed PPP
catching delayed crouch tech attempts with the cr.LK > cl.MP counter-hit frame trap is effective, but would be even better when linking the 1-frame UC1 afterward, but it’s not something that i can do consistently without plinking
EDIT: nvm. it works with 3P~HK
Any fei’s headed out to EVO?
Roger up!
Edit: pool C56 for me
A51 for myself! Hope we get to meet!
We’ll have a set up in my room. Maybe can run some sets. Fei mirrors can become silly though.
Sounds good bro. I play other characters as well. Would love some critiques man. I’ll shoot you a pm with my cell.
hmmm, so which MU’s does Fei lose exactly?
Cool. I dabble in ryu, cammy and going to play Rolento some after evo
Pro one, you have one of the San Antonio guys I play pretty regularly in your pool. Ua halite.
He’s great execution wise and has good knowledge of the game. I haven’t played him in a few months but he was playing e ryu and yang. That could’ve changed by now though.
What name did you register under?
Sfco Malice. Sweet appreciate the heads up. Didn’t really notice anyone in my group lol. Glad to see someone did.
I’ll try and get some sets in with him to get some intel if you want.
You’re having that much trouble beating him eh…lol.
Vega, Guile, Viper, Evil Ryu and Rose I would say he loses for certain.
There would be other debatable one’s though.
haha, actually I’m debating between him and Akuma as an alt for my Elena. Looks like Fei compliments Elena’s bad MU’s more than Akuma though so I might as well learn him instead.
Any player that can keep fei out or out footsie him wins.
I agree with highlands choices. I’d throw in bison but its even. Just gives me alot of trouble.

I’ll try and get some sets in with him to get some intel if you want.
Much appreciated

From the mid range though you can cr.lp qcf mp rekka to catch pokes, it option selects the rekka if you catch a stray normal (think Bison st.hk) but you can’t do this inside block range.
Buffering rekka from whiffed cr.lp is also good versus Makoto; do it from midrange or a bit further to catch any dash in attempts or random Hayate – st.hp is also useful for stuffing dash-ins and sometimes as a match opener.
I agree with Highland’s list for Fei’s bad MUs. Speaking personally, playing versus charge characters in general can be anywhere from annoying to frustrating for Fei. But Deejay, Blanka, Honda, and Bison (yes) are in his favor. Some ppl might feel otherwise about the Bison MU but one key aspect that Fei has that Bison lacks is explosive damage; Fei can make comebacks, Bison can’t … just don’t be the aggressor, make him come to you from the get-go and whittle down his health from his attempts.
My bison strategy revolves around getting an early life lead and trying to bait him out or come to me. Always U2 in that match for me
Unless you get a quick, sizable life lead, I don’t think Bison is the one who should feel the need to be chasing down. Bison’s mobility and ground game can do a sound job of being disruptive to Fei Long’s options.
I feel from the “get-go” it’s on Fei Long to close the gap and secure enough of a life lead that makes the Bison player feel that the neutral game might not be enough to turn it around and needs to close the gap themselves, or to show a semi-consistence in challenging Bison’s neutral normals with his own.
Until either of those occur, I feel Bison players can (and should) walk on air and pester Long with kicks to the sternum and face.
I find Bison players who are quick to doing Psycho Crush, Knee Press (unless I’ve shown a frequency to Focus Fish) and other means to bring the fight to me to be waaay easier to kill off than those that will run that clock all day until I manage to get through them, or tag their neutral game more than they can tag mine.
I still haven’t played Ultra, so I don’t know how much the dynamic of the match has changed, but I currently feel Bison has a very slight edge on Fei, if only because of his mobility and mid range kicks being able to challenge Fei Long’s advances. Fortunately, Fei Long does have the better damage potential, and the longer he can prevent or punish Bison’s swath of escape options he can keep things in grasp.
I hate .5 increments, but if I were to toss around a score, it’d probably be 5-5.
I’m in pool C48, anyone I should look out for? Only player I’ve heard of in my pool is nerdjosh. http://evo2014.s3.amazonaws.com/brackets/ssf4_c48.html
Anyone going to have their rooms open for casuals?
I haven’t seen too much of him recently, so I’m not sure how on point he is now-a-days, but you might want to keep an eye out on LI Joe. He’s the only one that stands out to me besides Nerdjosh.
EDIT: I forgot to add, last I saw him play, he was still using Sagat. Not sure if he will be rocking him.
