The fact that your 4 pound-force spring loosened up a bit like you say in “just” 3 weeks , 5-6h/day use, is simply due to BREAK IN of said spring, it is now more or less settled for a relatively long period and perfectly normal.
The thing is both stock and custom joystick springs are NOT pre-fatigued when sold to you new, it’s up to the consumer to break in the spring.
Same thing with k-lever grommets, they’re never pre-stressed before being sold, they need to be "broken in " as well, some people get upset the part doesn’t keep it’s initial “as new” specs.

You have to try out various springs and get an idea of the loss once they’re broken in, so that you know exactly what you need. keep track of the sources for those springs, as different parts stores may use different materials, wire diameters, etc although being rated the same .

I concur 100%

They’re OK, but honestly, I’d recommend giving the Crown buttons a try. I think you’ll like them a lot more. I certainly do.

Some day… all I could afford atm was performance mods on the stick. Maybe on my next stick or down the road on this one.

Yep, this falls in line with my experience as well. If you don’t like the feel of the break-in, I’d actually step up to a higher spring weight and break that in, then see if it feels closer to what you’re trying to achieve.

Isn’t 4lb kind of the top of what they sell?

Nah, Paradise Arcade Shop has springs running all the way up to 9lbs:

That sounds like it is probably excessive, but I am curious to try it. Probably not curious enough to buy and install one though.
