Ok, so this tourny intrigues me greatly HOWEVER, I have some serious suggestions that I have discussed with Dustin.
Suggestion 1: That prior to each match each person must write the 3 characters they are willing to play onto a piece of paper and draw from a hat to find out which of the 3 they play as(Or some similar method). Rather than having to play 3 different characters over the course of the entire tournament. This brings some random fun, and if you are throwing a special rules tourny for fun, the way I suggested is clearly more interesting.
Suggestion 2: Assuming that suggestion one is implemented then a re-draw should occur after the first match rather than winner stays and loser has choice to re-draw. Both players should be forced to re-draw regardless of outcome of previous match.
That is all, I hope my suggestions are implemented, I’d love to join the upcoming tourny

I’ve recieved lots of feedback on the tourney rules and want you all to know that I am definitely considering all that’s been said.
Your opinions are exactly what I hoped to hear, which is in part of why I announced the rules this early.

And finally, at this last session you guys were given an incentive to score a 10 win streak for a free buy-in to the tourney. Warahk was the winner. Congrats!

last night was real fun! playin these other characters that dont have command runs are so damn strange! haha i suck so bad!!! i suck so bad at all these other characters that i dont think imma join the tourny, ill just be there for casuals and moral support !! ooo and 3 hrs of sleep before work sux ass! holy crap was i tired but i lost track of time last night. oo and sign me up for casuals plz!! i know its early but i wanna be on the dam list

It’s gonna be hectic having to drive down and up for 2 nights in a row, but still. Might as well give this a shot before SSFiv takes over!

I talked to Wakasashe and i HIGHLY suggest we the following format for this tourney:
- when a player signs up he lists his three characters next to his handle
- using a d6 the three characters are assigned as 1-2 = first, 3-4 = second, 5-6 = third
- both players roll to determine their character each match, win or lose
The current system is a little whack because most players will just use their alts once and use their mains for the rest of the tournament. I know that’s what i would do. Making it random between your three characters would be a better gauge of versatility and would make things more interesting.
Also I decided on my team: Guile/Rufus/Ryu
Or maybe even make the odds of the main lower. So, 1 is roll again, and only 2 is your main.
Or screw it all, random character every ROUND.

FORMAT: Winners AND Losers brackets: 2/3 Rounds, Double elimination (best 2 of 3 sets)
GRAND FINALS: Winners bracket champion only needs to win one set. Losers bracket champion must win two sets.
RULES: FFN bids farewell to the original SF4 this month by challenging you to showcase how well you?ve gotten to know its characters. Where in most tournaments players take their main all the way through, to play in this one, players must meet this requirement: Representing three characters in the course of the tourney.
Players must sign up with his three characters on this thread before April 15, 2010. The brackets will be released before the tournament with detailed info on each player’s first, secondary, and tertiary characters, with color coordination to FFN supplied dice.
Both players roll to determine their character each match, win or lose. It’s a game of chance within a game of skill. There will be uncommon character matches as players work their way to the top, and the champion will have displayed the knowledge and skill to be called FFN’s overal best in Street Fighter IV!
Special note: Each of the player?s three selected characters should have been played through at least 1 set throughout the course of the tourney. So players have a special opportunity: A losers’ bracket player in danger of knock out( 0:1 situation) is permitted one chance to use their main if they have not yet represented him.
PAYOUT:
1st: $50 +CASH BONUS courtesy of Voltech Arcade Sticks, Additional prizes
2nd: $10, Additional prizes
3rd: $5, Additional prizes
