So I totally failed yesterday. I work at a game shop, and someone came in who I knew was a fighting game fan. I was like "So, you going to battle for the South? " he was like what’s that? I told him its Louisianas biggest fighting game tournament. He asked where it was, and I said Metairie. I suck., 
Metairie… Kenner… It is like 2 minutes from the border of the two anyway. As long as he got the website info I’m happy. He can just laugh at you later.

Interesting time for you to post this up. I just secured some more rooms at the venue.
I have had the room rate extended until 1/31/12 and it will be for the full 3 days of Friday night through Monday morning. It should now be properly labeled as “Battle for the South”. Some people were telling me it was labeled as “Video Game Champs”. Book soon, the rooms will not last. As Felinoter said, the rooms in the area are filling up.
Ooh, I need to get on that. This is the one obstacle I have left, unless someone wants to give me a place to crash. ^^;
A couple of announcements!
While you may have noticed that there was a spectator fee of $5 for people who were just coming to visit on the website, we decided to do away with spectator fee! So please bring people who are interested in coming to watch and play casuals! If we have spare room you are also welcome to bring casual setups.
We will take in monitors (anything considered “lag free” or at the very least evo monitor status, use this thread as a reference Sub 1 frame HDTV/Monitor Input Lag Database ) and also systems with game relevant to the tournament and we will take off $5 for either, but we are in bigger need for monitors so there is a chance we will not take a system. We will be taking them on a first come-first serve basis.
Lastly, we will be closing pre-registration on February 13th so we can start making brackets for the tournament, so please register soon if you haven’t already!

Guys, I’m unfortunately not going to be able to make it. There are just too many things going on that are preventing me from being able to come, mostly medical reasons. I’ve been doing better, but I’m in no position to travel right now. I’m really sorry about this.
