He was on a raft back to the states at the end of his series, kind of hinted that he’d go canibal on the trip too haha 
Thing’s surrounding his death are rather vague at best, next to Jigsaw Barracuda is my favorite regular Punisher villain/sometimes ally in the series. I think Punisher only has three villains that ever actually return in some form.

In Punisher Max #50-55, Barracuda finds out that Punisher has a daughter, kidnaps her, and then tricks the Punisher into a position where he would be able to kill her in front of him. Naturally, the Punisher doesn’t take this well, and the two end up fighting for the next five issues, culminating in da 'Cuda getting both arms chopped off with a fire axe and then having his head shot off.
Yeah, I’m sure Barracuda dies at some point. Garth Ennis has a strict policy for the Punisher: villains can only come back once; after that, they die because Frank doesn’t play around.
I just didn’t see the point of making a one-sentence post about the fact that he’s dead. Those comics are fairly recent.
