I’m so prepared to get negative reputation for this one since Super Smash Brothers 64 had a freaking hype announcer. The semi-metallic echo effect was utterly amazing and the way he screams out “CAPTAIN FALCON!” is just way too good. The Super Smash Brothers series will never get an announcer of his quality ever again. “FREE FOR ALL!!”
My personal favorite announcer was the dude for Guilty Gear X2, XX #Reload, and XX Slash. I can’t believe they ditched the guy for whoever did Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. :bluu: Oh well. "HEAVEN OR HELL; DUEL 1, LET’S ROCK!
I also agree here with the guys who liked the Capcom vs. SNK 2 announcer. His lines were over-the-top as they were, but his presentation sealed the deal for him! "THIS BATTLE IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE! GO FOR BROKE!!
Those three (or two if you REALLY insist that Super Smash Brothers isn’t a fighter) are my top picks for best announcers.
probably gonna get a lot of hate for this: SSBM, and GGXX:AC. I just think the Accent Core guy is hilarious and amazing, I love him and that vaguely awkward vibe he has going on.
Hmm… I do like the SF4 announcer, because he is genuinely funny, but this new SSF4 guy sounds like he could be fairly hype. Love his KO announcement.
The Alpha 3 dude wasn’t really an announcer but that guy was REAL. “Can you find your way to the glory?” “Can anybody stop this fighting machine?!” Fffffffff.
In general though I do prefer announcers to limit themselves to Round X and KO’s.
SF2 CPS1 - started it all
Mortal Kombat II - possibly the best sounding announce
Tekken Tag - Tag Battle! Fight!
MSHvSF - SHINKUU TATSU MAKI SENPUU KYAKU!!!
Others are passable.
Ones that I absolutely hate
SFIV - “Whooaoao!!!” STFU noob.
SFA3 - Along with the bad music I hated this shit.
KOF girl - "LEADY? GOOOAH! “LOUND TWO-dah, FOIGHT!”
Virtua Fighter 5. They actually say the characters’ names. It was so good, I got confused on if it was a real-time fight or not.
SC(Dreamcast) comes next. How the hell can your soul burn?! I don’t follow that at all. if my soul was still burning, why ain’t it stopping, dropping and rolling like I would?
