I like the 3S announcer for this very reason. Against Hugo in his man-baby bedroom, it’s going to be a huge throwdown. Against Remy, it’s the dethroning of an arrogant champion at a sketchy club. Against Ibuki, it’s a scenic twilight duel. Against Sean and Oro, it’s something to close the day. And against Dudley, it’s classy as fuck.
And let’s not forget that subway. The announcer is a spice to the hype. “Let’s go!”
Not to mention that he just fits with the game’s more subtle coolness: understated, but powerful.
original street fighter guy was the best… no fluff and straight to the point. he barely edges out the mortal kombat 2 guy cuz he was first but i loved the way the guy would say fatality in mk2…
i wanted to troll and say the ref from american gladiators but damn the sf2 guy was a pimp.
I disagree, MvC3 announcer is somewhere near the top for simply referencing the A3 and CvS2 announcers (aka the greatest announcers for any fighting game ever).
I like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure’s announcer, even though I have no idea what he’s actually saying. “Make a fight…FIGHT!” I also like the Samsho announcer.
Fuck all of you, the CvS2 announcer is way overrated. Most of you voting for him barely even played the game.
He says the same shit over and over and his voice is stilted.
The Alpha 3 announcer came 3 years earlier and actually has more variety in what he says.
MSHvSF announcer is the most hype of all-time.
SvC Chaos would probably be the runner-up…I’ve never heard someone so excited over a draw game: “ITZ AH TIIIIIE!!!”
I agree with whoever said the 3S announcer is very understated but powerful, and a perfect fit to the mood of the game.
Fuck A3 announcer. That along with the wack music is (partially)why I took that game back the day after it came out for PSX. back when you could return new games to EB.
That game started the “busy” announcer. Not fond of any jabbermouth announcing.
