so has it sunk in that funco is dead after sbo?
Or play the PSP version.
I’ve been playing this game since it came out on the PS2 in December. I’m in the socal area and I know a Fate/UC machine is at Arcade Infinity now. Hopefully that will lead more people to play. When I heard Capcom is only releasing the PSP version here, it made me a little sad. I wish they would localize the PS2 version as well. This is by far the most enjoyable fighting game I have ever played. Most ther fighters feel like child’s play to me.
In addition, I really like the new costumes in the PSP version. I also kinda wish that an updated PS2 version would be made and include all the PSP additions (minus simplified controls) much like how Accent Core got the + disc.
Aside from myself, I only know about 2 people at my school who play this game regularly or like it a lot.
Lastly, is Fate/UC being removed from SBO?
Nope it’s still there amazingly. There’s a few more spots left in qualifiers. I actually noticed today that kubo finally qualified with Kirei. Now I hope 138 will qualify soon, especially because there’s still no Archers yet.
finally played the PSP version. It’s fun imo, I don’t have to think about execution constantly.
If the PSP port does one thing right it’s that it’s one of the about two fighting games on the PSP to actually be playable on the original PSP’s Dpad, the other being Tekken DR. All of the other PSP fighters I’ve played have just felt awkward on the pad. (Admittedly I haven’t played the PS2 version so I don’t know how it compares to that).
^Add GG to that list
But yeah was kind of worried about how it was going to control after Darkstalkers (man even the simple controls were still tricky because the diagonals were so hard to hit with the psp pad) but capcom actualy managed to pull it off this time.
I played both of the PSP GG games and I didn’t feel they controlled perfectly. I found that diagonal moves were still awkward to use consistantly, but less so than other games.
Saber can no longer jump cancel her 214a/b/c-c move in the PSP version.
^ Thus removing her infinite. From what I can tell, it seems REALLY difficult if not impossible to even get an air string after the 236236a super as well. Thus possibly removing that infinite.
You could add Alpha 3 to the mix as well. At least when it’s on simple command mode. That mode gives you lots of leeway on the motions themselves.
I would’ve copped the JP Version if I didn’t know a US version comes out whenever. But I’ll just wait on that one and pass judgment later.
This game is so fucking fun, my friend and I play it on occasion. We only have pads for PS2, so we don’t do anything fancy, but it’s still a very fun game. My friend enjoys Rider or Saber, whilst I enjoy the Lancers and Bazett. I can beat him most of the time with Baz, but he hates it when I pull out either of the Lancers for…well, obvious reasons =P
Really, this needs to come over here, even with the ridiculously hard execution and broken shit, the game is really fun to play even on a casual level
Too bad this will probably die out after SBO. This game really didn’t get the hype it deserved.
138 you are dead to me
dead
LMAO did folks really get there feelings hurt by that switch?
Maybe it’ll just be like kubo last year who qualified with V.Sion but still ended up playing Sion in SBO

I’m trying to consolidate all known F/UCP changes in the thread listed above. Feel free to chime in and make note of any unlisted changes or corrections.

So are all the broken mixups still in the psp version? Like:
-Kirei Corner rekka pressure
-Gilgamesh Babylon Rushdown and Chain/Projectile zone
-Rin Corner jewel lockdown
-Caster lightning crossups
-etc
I can understand them wanting to nerf the combos and such, but I think nerfing the mixups/pokes would’ve been better. It’s that retarded shit that lead to the 7000+ dmg combos in the first place
Most of that stuff is probably still in, they just can’t kill you off it anymore. Gil’s projectile shit is definitely weakened though because reflect dash has upper body invinicibility and even though it only covers a short distance, as long as you can get to mid-range on your own, that’s probably close enough to punish swords and probably chains as well.
I haven’t played in a match yet so I’m not certain, but still. I would surmise that some of those pressure strings and whatnot are a bit different though
