Wow Rin is HELLA stupid. Just picked her up, now I’m wondering why I was doing all that trying with Kirei.
Should I just stop reviving this thread? I’m so excited about this game, yet I feel like I’m the only one

I’m sure it’ll have a revival during SBO qualifiers.
I realized I’m pure fucking garbage in this game.
D;
I still love the game, but motivation to study and practice just aren’t there. My friend who has DAY 2 Sakura constantly stomps my Rin. Granted I own the game and he’s only been in Training Mode for about an hour, it’s discouraging. lol
I haven’t successfully completed one BnB that involves TK cancels, so I may have you beat…
I like playing this game a lot too, Guardian, so at least you’re not the only one. Only problem is I can’t get anyone to practice enough to really get into it.
And yeah, Rin and Lancer feel kinda stupid strong. I think Rin wouldn’t be so bad if she had less jewels, and Lancer would be more balanced if he had a 1k dmg knockdown throw w/ long recovery instead of being able to combo off it.
I’ve kinda been having fun screwing around with Assassin against people that aren’t too good. I’m liking how a blocked hit at close range while activated leads to a free Tsubame Gaeshi. If people aren’t paying attention when they’re getting combo’d and block out of habit, it’s like a free 1~k damage from having the super hit unscaled.
Edit: Well Rin isn’t that beastly if you don’t use her like 5-way mixup oki or 5~7k combos, so don’t feel bad about losing.
What, Rin needs all the jewels she has!
Rin would be less stupid (imo) if:
-She couldn’t combo off of her throw
-She didn’t get near death(7k+) off of a combo in the corner w/ more than 2 stocks
-Her j.B didn’t have all it’s priority and crossup frames
-The active frames on the wind jewel didn’t last for an ETERNITY
Superclack-is assassin’s super unblockable or something?
In other news, I finally figured out how to get 2 supers in one combo w/ Kirei. Now if I could just get them both unprorated…
Up close it has like throw properties so you can’t block it. At max range it’s not the case
Oh, and doing the block into Assassin’s super only works on people that aren’t paying attention. Still, it’s pretty funny if it goes off.
Btw, anyone else think Lancer’s grounded Gae Bolg is kind of lame as a random super? It’s invulnerable from startup to activation, and there’ s no gap between the super flash and attack, so it’s way harder to activate/super counter than other moves. It’s nice when someone burns all their meter on a single Gae Bolg, but it’s still annoying to get hit by it.
Bazett’s kick super is the same thing, full invulnerability, AND it’s faster/hits higher than his.
I mean, there’s no reason to try countering it when you’re plenty safe blocking it anyway
Well the idea is that your opponent dodges one of your attacks using the invuln frames of his super so you need to activate if you don’t want to get hit.
Er, yeah, but that would happen with just about any super with lots of invul., just like most supers in fighting games in general, so what’s your point?
So Gilgamesh has ANOTHER infinite. His 6C can be cancelled during the startup frames, kinda like Kirei’s 6C, except he can only cancel it w/ his 623 series in Ea mode. The infinite is:
(5a,2a,5b,2b,6C23a~b)xN
You do the 6C, cancel it into 623a, then cancel that using B. That will bring you back to neutral, at which time you can do 5a again. The timing is extremely tight, so I don’t see this being practical at all, however the 6C cancel does amazing things for his mixup game with Ea, which he doesn’t really have. I think now it’s safe to say he’s in a tier all by himself lol.
Gara, what I’m saying is that most supers have a gap between the super flash and actually going active. This gap allows you to activate and block or activate a super to dodge the attack. Lancer’s super does not have this gap and goes immediately from his invulnerable startup into the super flash, and the attack hits immediately after the animation. This means that if you aren’t already blocking, you get hit.
This is different from other people’s supers where you can activate after their animation to defend against it. It’s a difference between activating after the cut-in animation and activating in response to like 3 frames of Lancer readying his attack. Understand?
You’re not entirely right, I know for a fact that I have blocked AFTER the superflash. Maybe that’s not the case at pointblank range then? I doubt it though.
I’m not saying it’s unblockable. If you are blocking before the super flash, it will be blocked. I am saying that there is no time between the super flash and when the move hits and that means someone fighting Lancer cannot activate between the super flash and the hit. I do not know how to make this any clearer.
It should have never died in the first place honestly. But what can you say?
why wouldn’t you just play gilgamesh
this game really is a pile of ???
What’s a good followup for Saber’s Avalon super? I’ve just been using 623B~C, but I feel there’s more that could be done with it.
Did you guys ever figure out how Girugamesh’s 2C infinite in Ea mode works? How that works and how FUC SBO matches will play out are the only interesting things left in FUC to me.
