I do like the form factor compared to the Joytron Parwang
Lol will Natty Ice do?
I need to move some old wooden crates.
If it does end up being a JLF clone I’ll take that bat top off your hands.
If anyone actually buys this besides MarkMan.
The problem is there are so many great options these days, if they would have released this stick a year or two ago before Qanba started crushing the competition with a dual mod out of the box.
It has decent form factor for the case but if you consider you still have to spend around $50 to get some decent parts its just not worth it unless you love some KOFXIII art
I mean this could be a awesome stick unlike any other if they would have just stocked it with all crown or other real Korean arcade parts.
Agreed Rosser.
The only one doing quality production K-sticks is laugh. I’d gladly take even a project dual-mod K-stick. Just another J-stick project is…just a dime a dozen nowadays. From my standpoint, I have two options, same company. I either get a Saulabi, a wooden stick, or buy one of Laugh’s Omni. While I like the Omni, I like to customize, so there’s $200 plus whatever parts I replace out of that if I get one. So I go with a Saulabi, well, I still have to dual mod it, and might as well add a guide button, and get rid of the abysmal Home button-less stock PCB. Which means I need an Imp or a DPDT too, unless I want to get a Chimp (which would be nice, but I can get a CG PS3 board dirt cheap here). Plus the parts. By the time I’m finished, that’s about $150-ish, and a lot of time, because of all the desoldering I have to do, and resoldering in the Saulabi.
Gammac, being a Korean company, should be placating to a Korean market, and putting down real K-sticks. Even if they use the same, or worse, parts than the Saulabi, for $100 for a dual system stick? I’d take that, buy the real arcade parts from laugh, drop them in and call it a day.
I have the original PC/PS3 Fanta Stick. I’ll get one of these for the collection. I’ll post pics when I get it.
I vaguely remember some shots of the joystick but hopefully someone there is kind enough to show the joystick area in detail. (the PS3 GAMMAC Fanta Stick)
That’s what I’m looking for. But I’m not optimistic in seeing a universal mounting bracket for a K-stick, or even a hole big enough to fit a Fanta or Crown into.
If there was one, I might be tempted to just go with 203Cs, I could compromise, but doubtful. Looks like a JLF clone, so odds are the hole for the shaft to go through is 24mm, making this a J-stick exclusive project.
I’d buy one just out of curiosity…if it wasn’t for Play-Asia’s $54 shipping charge! Too bad no one here in the states is a dealer for them. Compared to the original version, this one has quick disconnect’s. Here’s the official site:
Thanks Nucking Futs! for the update I really like how they used a daughterboard to attach to the main panel it really keeps the wiring clean I wonder how many mm the mounting bracket is from the min plate it looks like it could support a real fanta maybe
It look like they also added qd’s to the buttons good stuff
Markman said it was planning on acquiring one of these so we will see
I did just receive a $15 off coupon from play asia so if anyone wants to pick one of these up let me know and I’ll send it you way
No prob! Ya, that’s the first thing I thought about when I saw the pics of the mounting bracket. I can justify $115 - $120 but not $155. For another $50 - $70, might as well get an Omni stick with real Korea parts. Oh well…
Is there a minimum I have to purchase in order to use it? When does it expire? Can you PM/conversation it to me? Thanks!
oh shit never mind there are two coupons one for $7 off for $77 purchase and the other is $15 off for $150 purchase my mistake
No biggie. I just looked at their PS3 accessories section & I didn’t see anything else I can justify spending another $50 to get to $150. Wait, is that $150 min. requirement pre or post shipping?!? Thanks!
Hmm, that mounting bracket doesn’t look accommodating with any existing mounting plate if I’m not mistaken.
it may be accommodating to a real fanta stick but I’m still not sure about the depth of the stick will be accommodating though
Can anyone confirm for sure what fits on the mounting bracket?
Or if the holes are okay for a Sanwa mounting bracket?
That button layout looks wonky as hell.
MAYBE if you’re going to use the last six to the right, but it does not fit any widely regarded layouts like vewlix, and looks weird being raised so much above stick placement too
Appears closest to HRAP1 which was, IMO, phased out for a reason.
That start button is wicked close to the buttons. I forsee many unwanted pauses with that stick, but that’s just me.
The top row of buttons? No way. Those are plenty far enough away.
