Awesome! This’ll be my First Tourney, and I’m probably going to be the youngest there…

THANK GOODNESS!! Items = gayness to the max. Game isnt even worth anything with items on…items are purely for drunken combat.

Ill try and show up, much love for Brawl with no items =)

This sure makes it seem that more than 64 people would have been ok.

So after driving an hour to get there and arriving exactly at 3pm, I’m told that its already capped at 64 people and its unfortunate that I can’t enter.

Can’t say my first visit to FFA was a good one.

thats why signups were at 2 and not 3.

Me and Nas rolled out to this together. The signups were from 2-3, and the tourney was to start at 3. We were in line to register before 3. By the time we got to the front, we were told that 64 was going to be the cut off. This thread itself mentioned that if MORE than 64 people were there, they were changing the payout, that itself implies there was no cutoff. Thus, we planned to be there as it started. If, however, it was mentioned that there was going to be a cutoff ahead of time, we definitely would have shown up earlier in order to secure a spot.

results?

I have to apologize about the 64-player situation. Because of the Melee tournament afterwards (of which we had no idea how long it would have taken or the amount of players that would have entered, which was only 13 in the end), I made the decision to cap it at 64 so that there would be time to run the Melee tournament afterwards, which was a scheduled event. It was an emergency measure for an unprecedented turnout including the fact that we had only 4 setups, one of which had a bad picture. I’m sorry for everyone who showed up after driving all the way over and could not enter through no fault of their own.

To address these issues, the next tournament will have a starting time of 12:00 PM, more stations will be available (we have a new prototype cabinet that has a TV and is console-ready) and we will resume our Brawl Teams + Singles format.
