all im saying is this is kiddie shit. you guys enjoyed ffa for so many years and now something else has come along that you like more, so be it. enjoy denjin fwiw but dont go and shit on your old hang out and the person who actually give two shits about the arcade industry. do you flaming idiots not see how much he actually accomodated you all? 3s is old as hell and he kept many 3s boards running and even went to h2h to satisfy his customers. this might sound old, but h2h was not the standard and it requires much more room/cabinets/parts/etc. to keep up h2h machines. did ralph make it happen? yes he did. so for all you haters, ralph did a great job imo and was pretty much the lone standing arcade in the scene for california until denjin was opened. this in itself is an accomplishment and you should all show some respect. the man shed blood and sweat to keep this place open for a bunch of ungrateful peopleā¦ how sad.
This might have more weight if you werenāt talking about the past. People are mad about recent events, not about the past.

While there really hasnāt been any real proof of anything so far, itās fair to say respect FFA for all the stuff that Ralph has done in the past, heās certainly not immune because of that. Iām definitely inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, but if there really was any proof that he had done such a thing it would be really hard to defend him even given the current economic situation. Thereās probably a lot of complicated stuff going on behind the scenes and the majority of us really donāt know 100% of whatās going on.
Just saying, we shouldnāt all start jumping on Ralph until we actually know whatās going on and we shouldnāt have to stick up for FFA if something really did happen.
so i assume that nothing in the past matters and only what is going on now in your mind is relevant then? not being rude, but past is everything in this case. without ffa there would be no denjin so this is a bad argument. regardless of whats going on i suggest everyone leave ralphs name out of your mouth just for the lack of proof and benefit of the doubt factors. ffa is the sole reason 3s is still played and ralph is definitely a part of this. there is obviously alot of things between ralph and shogo that need not be brought public. is it what it is and once again i just ask for people to respect ralph, especially those who do not know him on a personal level. its nice of you all to jump to the defense of shogo/denjin, but without solid proof and without prior knowledge of any issues before this, not your grounds to speak.

SF4 is 50 cents because they can charge it and the machine is still in nearly constant use. Itās a business. And Ralph is a really nice guy and I couldnāt see him doing this. The other day I asked him if he had button plugs for sale and he gave me 2 american and 2 japanese plugs for free.
Ralph is a cool dude and ffa is a chill spot. I will agree that the stick are broken more often then they are fixed, but I always tell Nate and he jumps right on it. I will admit Ralph has the record on banning katz from there.

i may not live in socal, but i know that ffa has history. people talk shit about ralph, but from my standpoint, from the few times i been to ffa, hes done stuff for that arcade that people in every other town/city/state could only dream of having. socal players are my homies, but this thread is showing how childish some of you are, throwing out accusations with no real proof. For all we know, someone at the thai kitchen, next door, coulda called the fire dept.
This section is for matchmaking. Not for calling out others that have no merit or proof. If you gotta problem with ffa, just dont go, simple as that. Itās amazing how some of you can blindly accuse someone and talk so much shit when he clearly tried to accomodate the fgc. Especially the 3s crowd. Wtf have most of you done, other than talk shit?
Im not here to start shit with anybody. I may be the outsider. But i know everyone. I met ralph and talked to him before, he seems like a nice guy. All Iām saying is get all the facts straight before jumping the gun. It just makes you look like a fool.

The following is a response from Ralph (the owner of FFA), not from Nathan (the owner of this account).
For anyone who follows the forums on SRK there has been a lot to see lately regarding the SoCal fighting game scene and FFA. I have never posted here before, but the recent developments require an appropriate response. Let me begin with introduction. My name is RALPH and I have owned and run FFA now since 1974, approximately 35 years (I think I have much to be proud of with FFA).
It has become necessary for me to speak and set the record straight regarding false and inaccurate statements made on Shoryuken. First I will address the recent thread regarding the Southern California Regionals in SIMI VALLEY. READ THIS CAREFULLY! THE STATEMENTS MADE ARE ABSOLUTELY FALSE AND ARE OUTRIGHT LIES. THOSE WHO SAY THEY SAW ME IN SIMI VALLEY ARE LIARS AND ARE LYING. THIS IS A COMPLETE FABRICATION AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH. I DEFY ANY OF THESE INDIVIDUALS TO PURSUE THIS ALLEGATION BECAUSE IT IS NOT TRUE. I WAS NOT THEN NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN TO, AROUND, OR NEAR DENJIN ARCADE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN DENJIN AND I DID NOT THEN NOR HAVE I EVER CALLED ANY FIRE MARSHALL OR ANY OTHER AGENCY REGARDING DENJIN. On the day that the fire marshals went there I spent the day at home with my wife and my son. Again, the statements that I was seen there or called anyone are a complete fantasy! Consider the source! People see the Virgin Mary in a piece of pizza and it makes the 11 o clock news. People see Elvis working at Burger King. Does that make it real? IF YOU BELIEVE YOU SAW ME AT DENJIN ITS BECAUSE YOU ARE HATEFULLY DELUSIONAL AND YOU SAW WHAT YOU WANTED TO SEE!
So, the next time you decide to slander someone I suggest you do it with fewer childish insults that expose your pathetic disconnection from reality; OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD MANUFACTURE SOME PROOF. CANT YOU GENIUSES GET BUSY AND PHOTOSHOP SOMETHING GOOD? I SUGGEST PUTTING MY PICTURE IN A GRAN TORINO SHOUTING HEY, YOU KIDS GET OFFA MY LAWN! I feel sorry for those of you who fell for this and I understand some of you dont know me and might entertain the thought that this is plausible, but I state again: THESE ARE LIARS and their motives are their own and their agenda is obvious. This is a complete fabrication! YOU CANT MANUFACTURE TRUTH, THIS DIDNT HAPPEN!
Is it possible that one of the neighboring businesses got fed up with some of the activities affecting their business and made the call? This will always be a challenge to those who operate game centers, unfortunately some of our customers habits and actions make us unpopular with the community. I have owned many arcades and we have always worked diligently to lessen the effects of our business on our neighbors. Sometimes this makes us unpopular with some players (perhaps explaining some dissent). Sometimes our patrons show little respect for other businesses right to operate. This is why cities and landlords have negative restrictions on this type of business, big surprise there.
It seems to me that everyone should look a little closer at this. I cant recall any posts from FFA players or employees saying ANYTHING NEGATIVE about Denjin on the forums. CONVERSELY THERE IS A CONSTANT STREAM OF VITRIOLIC RAGING AGAINST FFA, MOSTLY FROM DENJINITES. ITS IRONIC HOW THOSE WHO POST HATE ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY RANT AGAINST. HOW HYPOCRITICAL. HOW PATHETIC. I DONT OFTEN READ THE FORUMS LATELY BECAUSE I SAW IT HAD DEGENERATED INTO THIS MENTAL MASTURBATION PIT FOR A FEW IMMATURE LOUDMOUTHS WHO ONLY HAVE KEYBOARD COURAGE AND NO INTEGRITY. THIS IS NOT WHAT THE PRINCIPLES OF SHORYUKEN ARE, AND IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED BY ALL WHO VALUE THE INCREDIBLE JOB SHORYUKEN DOES FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE GAME. Maybe some people dont fully comprehend the consequences of their words. Those people should be well advised that slanderous and defamatory statements can do untold damage and may come back to haunt them. I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN FREEDOM OF SPEECH, BUT IT COMES WITH RESPONSIBILITY AND TRUTH IS THE FOUNDATION.
Thank you to all the people who had the objectivity and courage to speak out on my behalf. FFA has had a long history and I have always enjoyed good relations with other SoCal arcade owners. The arcade scene is tenuous at best. To the players who have supported FFA over the years and whose commitment to the game has made the competition exceptional, to the many people Ive met who I consider friends, and to the many dedicated employees who have made FFA a place of many fond memories for me. I say, Thank you.
