it did have a tournament scene yes though nothing huge, it was competing with big name 3d fighters at the time like Tekken Tag, Soul Calibur 2 and Virtua Fighter 4 so its easy to see why it was overlooked.

tier list for BR3 is something like this

SSS- Uranus
S - Shenlong, Shina, Jenny
A+ - Alice, Uriko
A - Gado, Khoryu, Xion
B - Busuzima, Bakuryu, Long
C - Yugo, Stun

some of it is debatable but the top 3 are pretty much always going to be top, Uranus was unplayable in the arcade version but broken as fuck anyway

Most characters are viable from A up are all good, you are going to have a hard time if you play Yugo or Stun but they can win.
Uranus was the hidden boss of the game she’s ST Akuma or 3S Gill broken her backdash makes her untouchable and she has a very easy infinite, only a massive dick would pick her even in casual play lol

As much as I don’t want to protect BR4, a lot of the “missing staples” were in the game, you just had to unlock them and add them to your character. You had to do this with every character you wanted to change. It was time consuming and could ultimately become retarded(giving your char “all heavy attack” properties, giving your char specials from other chars, etc). None of the changes made the game any more worth playing.

No excuse for the meter management though. Making the human form 90% worthless and allowing you to live on as a beast once you lost all your “human health” made for a really shitty match flow.

Ah yeah some things like Air Cancel could be re-added with career mode, but like you said it took forever to build a character up from zero and by the time you add career mode into the mix things get really silly, also there was only 8 career mode character slots

eh i think its probably a tiny bit more balanced than 3s but close enough, Stun has some very bad match ups i think his worst is Busuzima since he can just run away the entire time and Stun has nothing to deal with it and even by some miracle he gets in Busuzimas command throw pretty much beats anything Stun has.

Bloody Roar was the only game I mained a trollish character.
Busuzima looked awesome as a chameleon, and his BR2 versus picture was lol.
Still played him in BR3, nerfed quite a bit but was still viable.

The cast wasnt to large to begin with so I could see them bringing back pretty much everyone…I really dont see anyone getting cut because of their uniqueness

Stun may not make the cut because of Mitsuko (Big Mama) being confirmed - These two had similar styles in fighting

Chronos may have gotten the axe because of Hans/Fox - Chronos played similar to BR1’s Fox

Ganesha and Greg may have a connection but I think Greg was more grapple heavy

That is a little vague man. Hitstun animation is not the same for all the games they made.

With Hudson’s response to that question, I think 8ing is pretty much confirmed.

Fang has a very small chance in coming back, but it be great to have him back.
