F.A.N.G. General Thread: Nothing up the Sleeve

Don’t make any difference if he’s charge or not to be honest, makes sense though, he’s very similar to Chun-li

One thing I only just noticed on this last watch was that the whole fascination with the number 2 was implemented into his gameplay. Almost all of his moves hit twice, including his normals. Even that cross-up j.MK appears to hit twice. I will really allow him to fuck with single armor moves.

At first I didn’t know what to make out of him, but watching his trailer again the Combofiend gameplay video I think he’s growing on me. Necalli is really the only newcomer that I don’t have much interest in playing, but all the other 3 look great imo.

I wonder how strong the poison mechanic will be in the long run, it will certainly be really interesting.

Must not take much charge time, combofiend was cranking them off from fairly close when he had birdie cornered.

He looks great in that video. Really pleased that he’s a charge character as I much prefer them. It’ll be interesting to get another look at his CA and see exactly what it offers.

Something tells me they unveiled the zoner last to ensure minimal stream monster salt.

He looks really interesting though, definitely a character I’m considering.

First complaints about Nash and Claw no longer being charge. Now complaints about FANG being charge. What a twist.

I’m not a fan of charge moves either, but I’m willing to learn for F.A.N.G. It also helps that his moveset is super interesting too, so there’s that.

I wondering if that Feng Crush Counter is a command normal. If not perhaps you can do crush counter chop into light fireball and then actually continue with a jump in, the staggered hits are pretty interesting.

You can’t expect morons to make sense.

Being charged killed my interest in him. I absolutely suck with charge characters. Oh well.

I will always find it weird when people are so passionately anti-charge/pro-charge. They’re just another motion in my opinion…

So seems like all his kick jump ins are 2 hits? I wonder how that works on damage scaling. Also I noticed that you seem to be able to Kara-Cancel out of the second hit of at least some of his moves? Seems like it from the Combofiend video. Also the 2 handed thrust is one of those moves thats safe when ranged correctly, but Im assuming if its like alot of the other stuff in sf4, its still pretty bad on block so supers may actually catch it.

RE: Vtrigger - So do you only get unpoisoned when he is knocked down? Gief seemed to stay poisoned through the hit and only until Fang hit the floor was he no longer poisoned.

fang is definitely going to be my main (until guile at least) now i know that he’s a charge character. his play style looks right up my street. bit weird that they announced fang and dhalsim next to each other when they play kinda similar.

Dhalsim being able to fly in the air and have limbs that reach half screen length make him quite a different zoner from Fang. To me they don’t have much in common other than both specializing in arcing/AA fireballs. Fang has a much more capable close range offensive game also including a lot of 2 hit normals and a canned side switch cross up jump in.

regardless, i couldn’t have asked for a better character to play until guile comes out. i was genuinely worried i was going to struggle with this game because i couldn’t see who i was going to main.
