Showing ping during the Ranked matches would be awesome. For some reason about 1/3 of the top people I play on the leaderboard are really really laggy. This is why select match by Ping rules.
@ a specific point in your characters twitch guard animation, you CAN’T hit any buttons. No jumping, no directions, no attacks and no assists. With as many twitch guards you can get per round, statistically its going to happen.
I mean, for the duration of a match, I could never call A1 specifically, A2 worked fine.
Also, I’ve had A1 come out on loop in other matches. Pretty sure it’s not my controller. I had changed the configuration to Left Trigger=A1, Left Bumper=A2, Right Trigger=A2, Right Bumper=A1. Maybe this doesn’t happen with default controls?
Also, sometimes the the game gets stuck on input loops and will just decide what characters I get-- random button inputs on select screen. After this, A1 is always looping so I’m sure its the same as above.
Capcom NEEDS to fix the laggy select screen. That’s so bogus and easily fixable, just have each player blind select a team in the lobby, thats the way it should be for ranked matches anyway. Its such a bad showing for whoever was involved with the game, there is NO excuse for a laggy character select screen on a next generation console.
EDIT: I’m now pretty certain that this was a controller issue.
somtimes during player matches I’ll win the match and the next challenger must be mashing ‘A’ because it skips the lobby and goes straight to the character selection so I have no idea who I’m playing against. I wish usernames were displayed on that screen (because if I’m playing someone I know it affects my team choice).
I know this was an old post, but the Juggernaut glitch works the same way it used to. You can do a move and tag any time before it COMPLETELY finishes (or hits) and still be powered up. As well, you can do a snapback and he will still be flashing on hit or whiff, but you LOSE the powerup.

Are any of these reports being linked to capcom bug report site or something so they can know to fix this madness? This game shouldn’t run this bad on 360 or ps3. Ps3 one was at evo and friends who played said it was worse than this one. Patch needs to come asap.
PS3 Marvel at Evo definitely was connected to HDTV’s improperly so its very hard to make an accurate comparison. It had a ton of input lag.
Akuma’s color changed to all orange earlier this morning when I played online. Other guy had Jin, and did his crouching HK at the same moment I did Akuma’s f+LP. We both hit each other and Akuma became completely orange and red and stayed that way until he was hit again.
In training mode, your first action will be lagged I think. If you just pick magneto or something and begin training mode, just stay still and wait before you move. If you dash, it will flash or lag a bit before dashing.
online play is real annoying when you host a game… bcoz it doesnt allow you to be “ready” like sf4… when your opponent loses, you dont have the choice to kick them out or leave the game, or be “ready”…if they are too quick to press their green button you are back into another match with them… Also once they join your hosted game… it instantly starts when they are ready… or if i the host pressed ready… … very bad, it should be BOTH parties press ready like sf4 and then game start… much more coordinated that way…
and rank matches dont show your score like in sf4…
to add to everyones sentiments… some matches worked fine… lol funny when there’s lag spikes and u doin triangle jumps vs a wolverine and he somehow teleports. hahaha… Also noticed that they took out Iron man’s corner otg option where u do launch fierce, fierce, roundhouse otg into infinite out. hmm…
I had one graphical error thats no biggie, just a minor annoyance, and one pretty bad glitch that I haven’t been able to replicate. These were both offline 2p matches. One, after Strider’s super where the floating things shoot the rings, they stayed on me for the duration of the match. They didn’t function and i could play normally, they were just there. Second was I went to pick Cyclops and after selecting him i ended up with Geif on my team.
strangely enough i had some really great matches online tonight.
wtf is with this random performance?!?!?
it varies by day…and even by game @_@
had a bunch of awesome low tier matches wtih vidness, magnetoX, and onslaught2000 (though he used only top tiers) and it didn’t seem to weird out as much…though sometimes when sentinel/storm are flying around it got crazy
up fierce, neutral fierce, roundhouse to otg still works for me. I’m having trouble doing launch up fierce, dash d/f jab, up fierce into infinite though. Seems extremely hard to pull off now for some reason. sigh
This is rollback in effect - when it rolls back, it doesn’t reset/cancel their special coloration state. As far as I can tell.
Hope to GOD, they can show ping during the ranked matches, i only play mutha fawkas 100 ping and below! :china:
anybody/anyone have info on the microsoft “patch update” team for mvc2?
it would be nice to have some fellow knowledgable players give them our direct feedback
if anyone can provide a way for a direct comment to the team, i’d be willing to write up a list of problems that are definetly areas that need to be adressed. It helps that we can honestly claim we’re going to STAY on xbox live if they can get this cleaned up, we guarantee the buisiness on one end and make accurate complaints…
I’ve got that desync bug right after playing Preppy 2 days ago. Whoever it was I was playing the following game picked MSP, but his characters carried over from my match with Preppy. I completely forgot the guy picked MSP until I killed what was displayed as cable, but was screaming like Storm when I killed him. Even weirder, instead of megaman, it said rockman on the lifebar.
tested somethings yesterday.
If sentinel has his back to the wall and you’re 25% screen from him when he does HSF, you will be hit if you weren’t blocking before the flash.
If you jump against AHVB, you can randomly block it after the flash. Seems like that is hella random.
It feels like the game has random slow down offline, anyone experience that yet? there’s slow down where there shouldn’t be any.
all tested offline by the way.
If the input lag is causing these things to become unblockable, then that means late blocking doesn’t work. However, me or mixup could not get a late block to not block. I’m blaming human the human factors involved and we didn’t try it that long.
If there’s lag input, blocking something on the very last frame\frames should be impossible. Even if you input block before the hit, the lag input would make that input come out later. We tried a really ghetto test with magneto. 1 player does c.lk and you block this. Right after the c.lk, magneto does an overhead and the player blocking should block as late as possible, right before the hit. We didn’t get this to happen 1 time by the way but the windows are so small that it will probably take a ppad to test it fully.
