I really hope the 5th character will be Tessa from SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos.
I think Demitri is unlikely cause of Midnight Bliss which would be a ton of work, as well as him being the closest character to Ryu out of all the Darkstalkers. We already have enough shotos.
Maybe Grown up Anita? She is human and the chosen one of light. That would be incredibly awesome. Then there is Red Earth and really 3 of the 4 main characters can be inserted without breaking the feel of SF4. Only Leo would be too much since he is a lion man. Tesse would be a bit out there with the magic and all, but is fairly normal. Now Mao Ling a chinese kung fu lady or Kenji a male ninja would be good fits. Kenji could tie into the mysterious Geki clan.
Makoto is excellent in IV. Not at all a good example of a poor transition imo.
I would say that I’m a character loyalist. I’d stick with Karin whether she’s good or bad, top tier or low tier. I love the branching options to choose from out of her rekkas. Feels similar to VF and Tekken in terms of attack strings. That’s why I like her so much.
Yeah, and then the juggle kicks, parries, 360 throw. She was awesomely designed.
If it’s a character from Street Fighter just not been a playable character in any game, it would be Goutetsu. Akuma killed him and stole his necklace, but w/e.
If it’s not, there are two more scenarios that I can think of:
- Using an already almost made character (saves time, and since they ported 99% of the content they seem to be keen to save a lot of time).
- Develop a new character with the purpose of putting him into another game like some of you also said. Not SFV, that is highly unlikely since Capcom stated they have not even started working on that yet. (They said they don’t even have a budget for R&D for a SF title for the next gen consoles). Probably some other game that’s coming up next year or so.
If I had to guess…It’s Ken’s daughter…I mean his wife’s been pregnant for at least 4 years (2009-2013). It’s time for that baby to come out and do some damage. lol

I just hope it’s not a character that’s originally from another fighting game, like Morrigan or something like that, it would be very stupid IMO to see 'em in Street Fighter universe.
I’m fairly positive it’s a character that’s in MvC3, it just fits perfectly with Capcom’s easy mode port route that they’re taking with USFIV. Probably Haggar to complete the Final Fight characters.

If they do Haggar they still need to do a completely new model/new animations/new moves. He wouldn’t play anything like his Marvel version just like Ryu and Akuma don’t play the same in Marvel as they do in SF. Marvel models are much lower quality than SF4 as they have to use less polygons to reduce the load on the console to reduce slowdown when there is a lot of things going on at once.
Even ignoring the weird deformities due to the fact that the models have different riggings that cause Ryu’s animations to wonk out, look at the level of detail for the SF4 model of Ryu vs the MVC3 Model:

Well I’m glad that we get at least 2 new “females”. 
It won’t be Haggar, I can almost guarantee it. He’s way too similar to Zangief, and people already generally don’t like grapplers. We already got Hugo, that’s enough. Even if they port a character from MVC3 it definitely won’t be Haggar.
Question, who are the girl shoto clones besides Sakura?
I meant that they’re not going to do it from scratch, porting from MvC3 gives them a solid foundation to build upon and that can’t be denied. I’m very much aware it won’t be an instant copy > paste.
Anyway I personally hope it’s a villain like character, SF4 needs more badass villains.

I’m for the 5th being a badass villain as well. Definitely not a joke character, or eye candy character for virgin drool please. Mrmattroxx is right, Ken’s son is born but too young even in SF3 which takes place after SF4.
Ehh, They are far more likely to use a character with the proper proportions for a base model. If they use anyone it will be based on Zangief’s model with all new animations (they can’t just port over the animations from MvC3 due to issues with model rigging and the fact MvC3 uses an entirely different engine and animation system than SF4.)
I do think they’ll use a shortcut of some sort like they did with Ogre in SFxT but I just don’t think it will involve anything from Marvel vs Capcom’s assets. Maybe IDEAS but none of the assets.

@Missing Person, I’ve been thinking the same thing about the countries not represented in the SF series. You can throw Iceland, perhaps Sweden, Poland, Scotland?, maybe a few more…
MY thoughts:
With Capcom stating previously that they will produce the new DS in the same vein as SFIV, a DS character might be credible. However, there are a myriad of CAPCOM games that are NOT fighters, to speculate about. The character choices are extensive… Being that they are producing an entire new disc, it wouldn’t be difficult to create ONE completely new character. However, I do see the perspective of “laziness” that Capcom has shown.
I’d love to see Karen return, as she is Sakura’s rival akin to Ken being Ryu’s rival. Hayato or another Star Gladiator character would be awesome, yet I doubt they’ll have a weapon-reliant character (A Claw is one thing, but a sword or hammer wouldn’t fit into the SF system.) 3S-wise, I’d love to see Necro
I’m relieved that it isn’t Asura. I just hope it isn’t a cross-over from a different company.
