He was mayor when he was pile driving Mad Gear into the pavement. I doubt anything as small time as mayoral duties would keep him from cracking fools with pipes if te need arises.

That being said, we probably won’t see him again in anything soon unfortunately.

It won’t be Haggar cause he was already in MVC3. Also I’m probably in the minority, but isn’t Haggar too similar to Zangief? Spinning clothesline plus piledriver specials. Now he is an awesome character but he kind of negates the need for Zangief.

I understand that, as I stated he has literally a 0% chance. I WANT him but it wont happen. As for “too similar to Zangief” honestly his lariat (It’s not a clothesline as clothesline, they are extraordinarily similar but they are different.) and his SPD aren’t the only moves he has, the other moves he has are very different from Zangief.

Difference between a clothesline and a lariat:

Here are some of the obvious stuff they could go for that would be pretty different to Zangief

The Sparta kick (Seen in Slam Masters series.) Looks similar to THawk’s far MK and likely was the inspiration for THawk’s far MK (Not sure though. Slam Masters came out only a few months before Super SF2 where THawk was introduced. Could just be a coincidence)

The running elbow drop - Would make for an interesting overhead special

The axe swing - could be a rekka series

The Izuna drop (Seen in Final Fight 3) nobody in SF has an izuna drop that starts on the ground. Guy’s is only his air throw and Vega is only from a flying barcelona.

The walking choke hold throw (Seen in all games) - This one I think could REALLY be interesting. Make it so that Haggar can grab the opponent and either choke them a few times and slam into the ground OR walk forward/backward and slam them into the ground. He either chooses more damage (chokes.) or control the positioning slightly (walking) this would let him move the opponent towards the corner. Obviously it would have a short limit on how long he can hold you before he automatically throws you. It could also be controlled so that he could do either a back throw or forward throw allowing him to change positions if he is in the corner.

The double handed chop - could be either part of the axe swing rekka or a standalone overhead.

The leg drop (seen in Slam masters and Final Fight 2 and 3) could be a move that lets him shorten his jump arc and causes a techable knockdown on hit letting him setup mixups.

His gut punch could work like Guy’s and be used as a far reaching (though probably 6-7F startup) attack that he could cancel to the axe chop rekkas.

Lariat could actually reduce his health like in Final Fight / Marvel 3 and be a good reversal and be relatively fast to recover but not be able to move like Giefs.

His SPD could allow him to control the direction he moves while rising so that he can move the opponent closer to the corner allowing him to gain space control using it unlike Gief who has to do the german suplex to gain any sort of corner control off of a command throw.

His pipe could come into play as well as a special attack like in Marvel 3.

Overall there is plenty of inspiration to draw from that would make him VERY VERY different from Zangief or THawk. Certainly far more unique than the difference between Ryu and Evil Ryu lol.

If we can’t have Mayor Haggar, then we need Mayor Burt Reynolds.

I think since Capcom is trying to hype up this character as much as possible it only makes sense to me if this character have some future potential in future Capcom products.

It’s highly unlikely it’s gonna be a random Doll, like some characters I have never even heard of until today. That might cause SOME hype for some players but can’t imagine it cause hype for most, and because they are only gonna be limited to future SF games and have a high chance that they’ll never return I don’t see it likely at all.

After keeping up with this for months I think it’s very likely going to be Sayaka to promote Assassin Fist, that and I couldn’t find the gamefaqs post anymore makes it even more suspicious.

The other possibility that makes some sense to me is Gene from God Hands, I can imagine a new God Hands game coming out and the character does look pretty cool to be in a SF game.

If there was really a DS4 in development (I doubt it based on previous official statements by Capcom), grown up Anita would be an incredible way to promote the new game.

You’re not the only one. Sayaka as first shown in Alpha Generations is Goutetsu’s daughter. If Ojou-san ends up with the same name and as the fifth character, it won’t be the first time a Goutetsu-to-Gouken cut n’ paste has occurred from a third-party SF media product (Ryu’s master named Goutetsu in the SF2AM and in Itou Mami-sensei’s SSF2X manga series).

As for SF Assassin’s Fist, I hope that Sayaka will only be either Ryu’s mother or Gouken’s daughter or niece. Either combination of these with Ryu’s mother would only be a horrid Star Wars slap to the feature’s face, and one more live-action effort down the tubes.

Was the whole thing about their being a poll for the 5th character’s name ever confirmed/deconfirmed?

We need to stop trying to guess who the fifth character is and start guessing how many more pages this thread will have before the character is revealed.

Im betting that we will have 38 pages total in this thread by the time the character is announced.

Good guess

not if I spam post! muhahahahahahaha

I’ll repeat what I said before in this thread.
You shouldn’t believe with such blind faith the clues Capcom is throwing.

They already steal, they easily could be lying and cheating too…

And who isn’t lupinko.

5th Character confirmed: It’s Google+

You shouldn’t trust Capcom officials, they’re so fickle. I mean, they told us the wait for SF 4 to 5 will not be ten years. Now they’re saying it is.

They change their mind like a girl changes clothes!

I’ve been keeping up with this nonsense since it started and I honestly feel capcom is testing out who they could use for future games.

What if they did put in a character who totally opposite what they said as far as not being in a fighting game before?

I think what slot of people don’t have in mind is SF5(whenever that comes out) will be in the 3rd strike era, so it being a doll doesn’t seem likely. Not even goukens niece, daughter

Don’t ever mention that shit around here.

There’s entirely good reason to believe Sayaka or Ojou-San may appear in SF 5. Makoto and Hugo’s appearance goes against a so called Third Strike Era limitation.

That being said, am I missing something? Who says the fifth character is connected with 5? I’ve heard this theory before.

I know by 90% who is the 5th character (look at video 9:50, it’s in French unfortunately) youtube.com/watch?v=SwwNsZKJBeA
Basically, this guy says that he knows the 5th character by a friend of his, and promised to reveal it in this video, unfortunately he decided to keep it secret to not put his friend in deep trouble. However, he gave us lot of hints by telling that the new character (we all know) is already in the SF universe, but never been a playable character in a combat game.

The new character may be one of the dolls of Bison. (I’m not the first one to say it, but I can confirm that its true)

streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dolls

Why her? Each dolls has a '‘month" characterized in their name (like Juni/Juli for June/July obviously). Well, because the guy in the video said something like:
’'Oh btw, are we in October now?.. What a beautiful month. BUT there are also cool months too…"
What a subtle hint! Notice the bold “BUT”, he stops here to say that the new character is not the doll “Xiayu” (October) but someone else. Please read description of each dolls in the streetfighter.wikia for more informations

And, in 11:51, he clearly said word by word: "But attention, the new character was never been in any SF game, it is really an unreleased character but…(he finished the sentence with low voice), there are already some similar characters who appeared in *Street Fighter Alpha 3 * (similar characters? oh wait, Juni and July right?)

He also says that “to create” a new character, it costs LOTS of money. Then, Capcom will probably do this: "Hey guys, lets copy/paste!"
For those who do not know this yet, Seth is a copy of Urien/Gill from SF3 (model and moves, yes, cr.HP and sweep is the same). It wont hurt if they take the model of Juni or Juli from Alpha 3, change a little bit, and release it as the 5th character in USF4. Oh yeah, it wont surprise me if they do that, the four upcoming characters are already taken from SFxTekken.

Anyway,
For me, I believe it’s Decapre (masked Cammy, december)
Thanks to @blufang with the Balrog’s ending video, it all makes sense now

BELIEVE OR NOT BELIEVE (:
