Artayes
— has been a local hero forever, hasn’t been his prerogative to go to EVO, get to Japan*, test his skills on those arenas. Which is fine. I’ve tried to stay nuetral on it, so gave him his props just the same if I’ve ever slighted him on here among a flammable arena of onlookers, but hope he doesn’t teach more guys the school of Artayes, OrejaVanGogh there being a protege of Spin Knuckle advantage and missing frames blockstrings made even tighter online. So he’s more to the side of only thru in game experience and matchups more than constantly needing new advantages learned in being a training mode warrior, he’s content with where he stands in his knowledge of self and character, playing the person. Auto-pilot will happen without players to push you to your limits, he has truths in his posts too such as that. Just the same he should get respect for being around, years ago still in Necro forums sharing things he’s learned for the benefit of anyone else wanting to learn a tricky character, unconventional, for some type of people only to main. So there will no doubt be less info out there, less people available to learn from.

Ryan
— is famous and infamous the same. The best thing to come out of all this is any breaking the shell of being the “hardass online personality, give up no ground to anyone,” in both respecting and olive branch giving to Artayes, while also letting us in - into his personal training regimens and where you should place yourself beyond only learning combos. Use all these grand resources available, not taking them for granted, and still is humble to his placement in the world of Street Fighter 3. While it may have taken a ridiculous amount of Japan aided help, getting a mentor out there might be impossible on your own. While you get smashed daily on the regular as the Japan styled “outsider/gaijin/nail sticking out to get hammered,” though breaking thru in the same hobby and lifestyle outlook as these guys will warm them up to you for lifelong friendships. Stay true to yourself and let the chips fall where they may.
That was way wordy, esoteric Japan starry eyed. Guess there’s a lot already said about Ryan, can be done better by those who know more, so it won’t have to be retreaded.
The point is these guys are 3s lifers to recognize, and even between them no mutual respect right now, it will be a shame if this turns into some Pacquiao vs Mayweather type of deal. Though I hope you guys, “stay in your prime” longer.
