Actually his logic is perfect. I beat duc for money at mike chaos’s house. Then again first to 10…then at evo west. Thats not once thats thrice. Thats pretty damn consistent.
You said it yourself. Sanford adapted midmatch against Duc. Except that now this midmatch after 8 games does not exist. They will all play a single game against Spiral. You may call it gimmicks or whatever, but EC does not face a lot of Sprals, and this may bring a few wins.
Now imagine Finesse or DP playing Santhrax against Wong and friends. The EC team plays with and against Santhrax everyday. Even Santhrax itself is on the team. Do you really think those players can do anything?
That’s exactly the reason why Clocks is there as well. They have a chance of surprising the East. Nobody in the West is better than Wong with Santhrax or Mags anyway. Actually not even Strider, since Wong beat Chunksta with him. Those Ec guys play Wong and each other all the time. Spiral is actually one of the best possible decisions. Plus Duc can play Cable well, and Cable is another unusual character nowadays. With no room, most of WC surprises are on Duc’s hands. He may even lose 5-0, because EC is that good, but it is reasonable decision nonetheless.
So what? Duc is not EC. How many times did you beat Wong, Sanford, Yipes, Smoothviper and D. Hyo? How many times you placed above any of them in a tourney? Are you willing to MM any of them for big money?
You see how many NOs in your head? That’s why they’re going with Duc. Maybe if you accepted Wigfalls’ MM people would have a little more faith in you, since Wigfall is like #10 at EC.
What if Infinite plays and perfects you again. WC needs some pride, kid.
When a side-event comes where the goal is to beat Duc as most as possible, you may apply for it. But when the goal is to beat EC, you really need to prove a lot.

Marvel has basically boiled down to Santhrax. If anything, Duc is the only consistent cable player left.
