also as you dont count small tourney/events fluke winners in the big picture (anything not a major) why count these one time’er games (including their champs) on the same grand scale? as say 3s/st/mvc2. games that randomly show up in a major if to then never appears again Dont Count/Carry the same weight. either have the same games brought back every year to legitimize their champions, even if only as a side tournaments, or discredit the winners as one hit wonders when in-comparison in the dynasty record totaling

by this purist/nazi way of thinking, SC2/DOA/(AH next year) evo winners never really carry the same bread and should not be counted in the same lot as winners of seasoned games. so carl doesnt get a 1up for the black man unless should he resurface*

So WC over EC in money matches by 18-12 or so. The Deus and Potter vs Sanford matches had money riding on them, but I don’t think the players themselves had bet money.

no armchair warrior, just no. no need to make excuses for the man, but you were wrong abotu what he played back then anyway too. even back then justin was playing cvs/a3 etc etc he didnt just play marvel exclusively back then either.

sabin, i think what he’s trying to point out is that while he did play other games, the community did not really focus on his skills in “other” games. what zerog is focusing on is that the game that justin was “known for.” while people are not challenging the fact that he played cvs or a3 at the time, it is reasonable to assume that he played marvel much, much more than he played any other game, and by winning evo in that before he won evo in anything else, it isn’t unreasonable to assume that the amount of time and effort he put into marvel was probably considerably higher than any other game he might have been playing at the time.
