So the whole country watched the tourney and decided to drop the game? It was popular with them and they stopped because they couldn’t take losing? I always had the impression that MvC2 wasn’t that popular outside North America. You know what with no other countries really playing the game…
You’re wrong. Besides being the main game for US vs Japan, MvC2 have or had tourneys in Canada (Justin Wong wins it everytime), Mexico (Justin Wong ois the current national champion), Chile, Argentina, Peru, France, Brazil, Australia 9I thijnk Y2J took the last one) and probably many more. It has solid players in Hong Kong, Phillipines, Singapore and probably many more. Go search Preppy’s or YouTube and you’ll see.
Japan got destroyed in 2000 5 on 5. They went back in full force to be destroyed again at B5. Then most of them gave up, except from some hardcore loyal players like Takayuki and Mitsu. The rest of the world do play MvC2. They just don’t win at it.
And I think I’ll change my signature to: Japan does not equal rest of the world! Most people should’ve learned it by now.
Dumb question coming. Is Arario US? The japanese players came?
Whatever happened with Gian challenging any American player to an ST money match with like 20 people accepting a few months ago? Did that end up happening? If so, results? If not, is it going to? That shit’s gonna be a masters degree in Dhalsim if it does.
evilj: Ha - I thought you were here too.
Fanatiq scews up with an unsafe DHC in match 3, ggpo.
He had a nice Psylocke comeback to make it close-ish, but still lost by a ways.
Reminder: DHC to Hail Storm is QUICK but not completely safe. And roll. =P If they dash up under Magnus when you hypergrav, DON’T DO IT. To quote from this weekend “Wow - she died just because she DHCd in.” Not safe. Wait and save Magnus.
