Evo HYPE!!!

reversal level2/3 ftw!

good luck all. wish i could make it this year, but looks like i’ll miss out again.

Oh, that’s too bad about yamazaki93. I think he’s good enough to make top 8. Definitely one of the best K-groovers. I hope he’s doing well.

Stay strong S-players JJJ and Doc B; I see you have some serious challenges ahead. I know you’ll rep.

Everyone else good luck at Evo!

MAN I’ve been missing EVO. I’m gonna miss this one and i didn’t make 2007 either.
I gotta participate somehow…so here are my pool predictions.

Pool A - BAS, Havoc

BAS, too easy. Now Havoc is a guy I’ve never met before, but he just sounds hungry if you’ve read his posts. Seems to know his stuff as well. Phobos, Galzpanic, and Wall I can kind of vouch for, but this is just my prediction…

Pool B - Kindevu, Hail And Kill

Kindevu is that Japanese guy who always manages to attend each EVO. He’s also pretty beast in Alpha 3, random knowledge…and GENE, make me almost cry again buddy. Keep that appetite up and do it for reals for just a few days.

Pool C - John Choi

I had to play this guy twice at EVO tournaments. WHY??? We’re both from the bay and play each other at golflands/keystone already…and I have to get nearly guaranteed losses against him at the start of 2 EVOs  but yeah anyways this is obvious. I’m not really sure about any of the other players in that bracket, so the other guy is a toss-up. Good luck Dentron.

Pool D - Leezy, laugh

Leezy is just really good. I can’t even beat his a-groove team. It’s also his final year (allegedly) so he’s gonna bring it for sure. laugh is too serious with A-Bison, my arch-nemesis. And since there’s no RF (heh heh), I have a good feeling that laugh will be Top 8. laugh, man, you and I have played many matches, I just hope I didn’t bring your level down with my crap execution. DO IT!!!

Pool E - COMBOFIEND, pigadoken/steve H

COMBOFIEND, the easiest bet to make (besides BAS)and one of the most solid (yet still takes lots of risks) players I’ve seen. Now, I’ve seen a few Steve H matches and he definitely has a strong sense of p-groove, I think that albert (pigadoken) has a strong sense of the other guy playing and I’m just not really sure here. P vs. P…someone get that on tape. Interesting, to say the least…I had a parlor trick designed to beat albert but I’ll save that until after the tourney. (random)

Pool F - Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz

Obvious. But I don’t know how the pools work; how many people can escape? If only one person can make it out of pools, then I really have no idea who’s gonna come out. Justin has a proven track record, but I’ve played the kitty many times and he is really uncanny. It’s hard to explain, but I guess I play like Ricky, obviously maybe like 2 or 3 times worse. I understand the way he approaches the fight and it’s a good one…

Pool G - HaarisAbbasi, no idea

Haaris is good, managed to get in a lot of my last 2006 games with him (before I left the country). If he replaces Akuma with someone more solid, he’s good to go, but I risk disrespect with that statement because his Akuma is really good as well. Dang I don’t wanna be giving info on how to beat people but I came close with this guy in tournament and if I could redo things, I might have…gotten closer  The rest of the bracket is kind of unknown to me, but for Todo’s sake lets put Andry up on there. Andry I played you a few times at SVGL, I think you’ll handle this…

Pool H - buktooth, Charlie Nguyen (sAi)

Our forum hero is gonna take 'em out, doesn’t matter if their names are Sabin, Tokido, etc…not gonna ride his jock too much cuz that’s for everybody else to do. And why do I go with Charlie over Tokido? Simply put, Charlie has knowledge from the 4th dimension. This dude is crazy, both figuratively and literally. (Cool guy in person, don’t get me wrong) I have tons of faith in Charlie. This guy is a T-REX barging in on a velociraptor’s lunch of humans. And umm…good luck bean. =) Don’t get killed by rolling Kim…

Are they doing live streams this year for pools?

Didn’t qualify :’(

Bas is pretty good. I can’t block slides.

how well did you do vs him though? your iori brought the rape against his vega did it not?

First match was OCV. Second match I was maybe two frames late on activating on him which would have peaced his Blanka out, with my Bison, which would have left his Vega on my Iori, but it didn’t happen, and I never got to the last character.

I ran through losers for a while, then I lost to Phobos 2-1.

Basically, I played like a bitch.

BAS aint no joke lol I played him at texas Shodown, dude is on some other shit

havoc, did he use bison first vs you?

who did leezy got peaced out by?

Yeah, he used Bison first.

Leezy got knocked out by Combofiend in a close match.

EDIT- As a little consolation, I did beat Bas’ N-Groove in casuals yesterday

which team is justin using this year?

Choi wins cvs2

Go usa!!!

Could anybody confirm if the teams listed below are correct?

1st: Choi (C-Ken, Cammy, Sagat)
2nd: Bas (A-Vega, Bison, Blanka)
3rd: Ricky (A-Vega, Sakura, Blanka)
4th: JWong (C-Vega, Cammy, Sagat)
5th tie: Tokido (A-Vega, Bison, Blanka)
5th tie: Hail and Kill (A-Vega, Bison, Blanka)
7th tie: Buktooth (N-Iori, Morrigan, Hibiki)
7th tie: Combofiend (K-Ken, Rolento, Cammy)
