EVO Game Intro raps w/video(Includes mp3's of each game intro.)

Good shit  Really enjoyed the SSF4 and Tekken.

Does anyone have the SSF4 rap with crowd reaction? I would love to hear/see that.

Yo, that Melty joint is sliiiiick. Do you actually play, or did you do that thing Adam Sessler doesnā€™t know how to do and research?

Good stuff, I heard Redrapper a little while ago and like your stuff, especially the delivery.

I done a track called ā€˜SHOGUN OF THE DARKā€™ which I think should be popular with fighting game heads (includes a crouching roundhouse kick and an Ibuki-style Kunai projectile attack)

My friend said the same thing. Good shit on the intros. Keep it up.

I really like Tekken 6 and Marvel ones. Good shit Redrapper!

Haha. I have a very good friend whoā€™s exceptionally good at the game, and so I talked with him about it.

Hereā€™s what I donā€™t like about video game songs from time to times, is that they are treated as gimmicks. ā€œHey guys, we mentioned a Shoryukenā€¦ har har, that was clever right?ā€ Theyā€™re punchlines are more to aspire attention instead of expression and they often times fail to make concrete statements as a whole. When you write rap music, thereā€™s more to lyricism than just making a punchline. It is the science of structuring words and phrases together in a manner that brings an emotional resonance to the listener. Yes, punches are an important part, and multis are nice too. But the sounds and symbolism and word usage represented in each one of these needed to be more than just ā€œIā€™m trying to make a bunch of raps about games.ā€ They needed to be treated with care, and seriously, which I feel more people should do when they rapā€¦ about ANYTHING. That means rhyming words that sound interesting to rhyme and interesting to bend and write and say(George Carlin once said something along the lines of ā€œEvery word gives off a cerebral responseā€ and I keep that in mind every time I write.) and Iā€™m not a ā€œnerdcoreā€ rapper(I think the term is retarded, and I donā€™t plan to ever limit myself to only doing music about video games ONLY.) and I think that you should treat this stuff with as much respect as you treat something about your life. This isnā€™t just a one off kinda thing. The Melty Blood and Tekken ones were hard to do. I had to learn both games(ESPECIALLY TEKKEN.) in order to really write about them. It would be kind of bullshit for me to go ā€œHey, hereā€™s a rap that signifies your place in this community from a guy who doesnā€™t know what the fuck heā€™s talking about.ā€

So I went and studied the games for hours on end until I had a grasp. I called people I knew who played the games, I checked out match videos, whatever I could do. More than the systems, I wanted to know how the games felt when played in a competitive environmentā€¦ if that makes sense. I know the systems fairly well now(although I would still need a fair amount of more practice to gain a familiarity with them overall.)

My goal was to represent you guys willfully, and to give you guys something to be proud of. To treat each game that each community brought with amazing respect and gratitude. I wanted to hype you guys up because you deserved it, and so I shelved all the Fighting game Practice I should had been doing and went and worked on these so you guys could have some good stuff. I understand some people may not vibe with it, but I hope most of you overall enjoyed it. I worked insanely hard. Every game represented this year has a myriad of ideas and a substantial amount of depth. I hope I was able to let people know why you guys kick ass.

And I hope I rapped it well enough.(Because I got 2 hours of sleep every night for a week trying to edit them.) =) So please, enjoy them. Check them out. Show your friends. Spread the word. Iā€™ll keep writing this kind of music because itā€™s a passion for me to do so, but I got other stuff out there too, which you should check out(even if you donā€™t like rap. Music is music, regardless of genre. Yes, Iā€™m actually hoping to please people who hate rap as well.) The more help I receive, the more stuff I do. I got a third album that was actually supposed to be done BEFORE EVO, so I gotta work on that stuff now too =) But was it worth it?

Wellā€¦ my favorite experience so far in the last 3 years was standing up and having 2 thousand people clap for me and tell me the appreciated what I did, all the way from walking up to me to shake my hand or asking me to sign their stick. It got me all choked up later on, and I absolutely appreciate all of it.

Enough blabbering. I love you guys. I love these games. And I love rap music. Keep spreading the word. Download my mixtape if you like. And wait till I come out with something even better. Because I will. I donā€™t believe in walking backwards.

The songs you did brought the hype and I was especially pleased with the Melty one, represented the game damn well imo.

ā€œYes, Iā€™m actually hoping to please people who hate rap as wellā€ - I donā€™t really like rap a whole lot but damn your songs got me interested, good shit red! Would have gotten my stick signed but I was pretty salty about not bringing it on Sunday at that point :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep us posted on an album

Nominated. because you fucking deserve it.

ā€œI GOT 3 ATTACKS AND 4 LETTERSā€

Haters gonna hate. Iā€™m not even a huge rap fan but I appreciate your passion for your art and our gamesā€¦ and thank you for shouting out to history in the HD Remix rap. SF2 is the reason all these other games exist. Keep up the good work.

Iā€™ll be honest, when i saw the ssf4 intro i thought 'wtf is this ridiculous shit?'
But, now that i saw this thread and saw all the songs that you written, even though im way far of a rap fan, i did enjoy your creativity and the mixture of the love between your song style and the games.

Youā€™re talented for this shit, congrats.

for him it was tuesdayā€¦fuckin classic!!!

They were all great and represented their games beautifully.

I like how the SSF4 ended with ā€œSuper Street Fighter IV, itā€™s about damn timeā€ and it was the last game on stage.

Thanks soo much, really wanted these.

I like the SSFIV finals the best.

Red Rapper, youā€™re epic lol. #73 Most viewed channel today, and going higherā€¦

All the raps were pretty slick. ā€œIt was Tuesdayā€ was the best soundbite tie-in ever.

I am professionally qualified to say that what you did here is fucking top notch and it gets ratings from me.

Thanks guys. All videos are now up(save for the skit which Iā€™ve heard a lot of people disliked.) If you want Iā€™ll upload it, but for now Iā€™m keeping that in storage

Iā€™ll upload the mp3ā€™s of all the games later today.
