Justin Wong picking Abel…he just suck so bad with Abel.He did not learn the first try vs Daigo when he sent him to the loser bracket.Imo it’s prob costed him the grand finals.SInce it’s basicly gave Daigo the first round.

oh yeah, speaking of strange character selections, I almost shat myself when Ed Ma picked Zangief! I don’t know the matchups as well as a lot of other people, so I know some people were saying it was for counter-pick purposes, but man seemed like he wasn’t as prepared as he should have been to pull that out on Justin… He gave it a lot better go with his Akuma, wish he would have stuck with him.

Personally, I’m bummed that Sanford didn’t win against Wong in 4. I know that’s not exactly an “upset,” but still. It wasn’t a bad move choosing Akuma over Cammy for that one, but still. I was highly, HIGHLY impressed by his Cammy, and I think he could have won against Justin with her.

I mean, seriously, it’s 2009, where’s that shit coming from? I didn’t know we were still in the cold war and hulkamania was still raging. Daigo was all class and let Justin work the crowd, but we all know it’s the folks that make the most noise that have the most to be scared of. He should have just kept his head in the game instead, and maybe he could have pulled it out.

I have to say, Seth’s commentary was on point though. I think a lot of his commentary gave insight that people who don’t have that level of experience would never think of. Bunch of idiots in the stream were trying to talk shit about him just cuz he pronouces ryu’s name “roo”, like for some reason that matters and makes him a bad commentator? We really need the technology to filter out /b/tards and IRLtards from future streams…

We chant USA b/c since well forever we have lost in SF at EVO. Japan rape us for years and years in Thrid strike and this was OUR year or so we thought.

BTW chanting USA isn’t disrespectful to the Japanese you dumb fuck they chant that all the time in the Olympics. We are chanting for OUR people NOT against them.

Sanford was great to watch, especially in MvC2. The thing about his Cammy though, she was obviously great there is no denying that, I can’t help but think that Dan lacking Cammy experience made Sanford’s Cammy look greater than it really is.

IDK, did anyone else feel like the USA chanting was bad? I guess I could understand both sides of an argument like that, but I really just feel like it was people “cheering for the home team”. Not like they were trying to diss the whole country of Japan. Plus, (although I don’t have first hand experience with a live tourney in japan), even though they are more reserved than us, Japan has a SUPER nationalistic culture, lol. At the very least, I’d think they understand. When Japan and S. Korea go at it in soccer, I know everyone isn’t being all classy and reserved, haha.
