Im going to try and speak on behalf of the 09’ crew…
I got into the shoryuken scene with HD remix…so this year will be the first year of HD remix and SFIV held at EVO…
and with these 2 new games will come the additional wave of potential customers
we all know of the increased popularity in fighting games because of SFIV and HD remix…that means obviously more people interested in getting an evo 09’ DVD…
an increase in dvd sales is a lock…so…for me and the many others who will be first time buyers of an evo DVD…would like to get to know the format of the dvd…how do these things get broken down? (I read the lil sales pitch for the 08’ dvd…I felt like I wasnt too sure what I was going to get on that dvd)
on estimation, how much actual game footage in each tourney shown?
a % estimate would be helpful.
do you show only quarters and higher? or do you show alot of early round stuff?
what kind of interviews will we have? for how long?
how will the games be shown?
you know, very basic stuff
some general information would be helpful for all your new potential customers…
thanx
its pretty much the final 8 for each game
who vs who
plus like commentaries and stuff and some ineterviews
What kind of turnout do you guys think there will be?
At that event at arizona there was 100+ entrants in SF4…and its possible Im only going to watch the top 8 play?

It’s top 8 for every DVD.
i think this year it should be like sf4 getting its own dvd being that its gonna have like 500+ entries this year. top 64 for sure should gets it own dvd…
aside from pming mr wiz how else could this b pithed to him? maybe ill make a thread
yeah… top 8 dont do it for me… i wanna see everything… all the scrubs and masters… DVDs got lots of space… SF4 getting it’s own disc would be cool too…
Its also not usually top 8 only… For the popular games its top 8 + An assortment of random matches from early on(of anticipated matchups between two players or good matches I guess)…
I own like the B4 tapes and a few EVO dvd sets and they are all like this. I dont however own 07 and 08 so maybe those werent.
Id really like ALL of top 32 to be on it if possible for SF4. The regional tourney will be a ton of matches but it would be nice to have all of that as well.
I agree…sfiv should be in its own dvd…and show alot more than top 8…
for some of us low level players looking to learn the game…we need to be able to see lower level play to learn what counters what…whats safe or not…I think its very important to us newer players willing to learn…
not everyone lives around great players…if you can show me ALOT of matches in SFIV…the dvd is as good as bought from me

Recording matches is a pain in the arse believe me. If more games had options for in game recording it would be much easier for staff to cherry pick crowd favourite matches before the top 8, otherwise it’s too hard. Top 64 sounds like a nightmare.
they do have laptops and capture cards. anyway i made a post here http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=197020

Perhaps SF4 should get its own 3 disc dvd special edition with I Got Next if Cofino is ok with that
I could be wrong but if Cofine were to start selling it, I’m pretty sure he would have to start paying for licenses for the music he used in his documentary. Those could be quite expensive as we’ve seen with the Bang The Machine incident.

is it ok to record anything before finals?
Can we get blu ray versions hehe
SFIV should gets it owns DVD and all special events (like 5on5s or matches involving two parties playing for a prize) should be included on the DVDs as well.
I think even HD Remix should have as many matches as possible considering its the first year as well.
